Thanks, pal!
It was the big baseball game that Scout had been waiting for the entire season. The game between his team, The Dugouts, versus the Rundowns, the undefeated team since 1945. The crowd gathered on the bleachers all cheered for their teams before the game started. Scout could hear his Ma and his seven older brothers cheering for him as he walked up to the bat. He smiled, knowing he had to make them proud. The ten year-old got into position, holding the best tightly. He could not let his guard down in front of these guys. STRIKE ONE! Scout's eyes widened when he realized that the pitcher had already thrown the baseball. Scout frowned and prepared himself again, his grip getting tighter on the bat. He couldn't lose. STRIKE TWO! The pitcher smirked. "Come on. This was the challenging team I was promised? The game will be over really quickly." The teenager threw the ball again.
KLANG!
Scout hit the ball and immediately began to run to first base.
(Y/N) stood in the middle of the field, watching the boy at the bat. He looked so confident in himself, even though he was nearly out. I should do that when I'm on base...She thought to herself. (Y/N) watched as he hit the ball and it was coming directly towards her at a great speed. "I got it! I got it!" She called out, raising her hand in the air. Unfortunately, her hand was too high to catch it. The last thing she heard before blacking out was a loud crack.

Scout made it to the first base, smiling. He turned to look for his Ma's smiling face in the crowd, but only saw her and half of the crowd concerned. Scout, confused, followed their eyes to see a girl collapsed onto the ground. Hmm...? Was the heat too much for her? Scout wondered. Then, he saw the baseball on the ground next to her. Crap. Quickly, regret built up in him as he saw the adults surrounding her. Scout ran over to them and looked down at the child as people called for an ambulance. She looked so helpless on the ground, her eyes closed and what appeared to be blood on her forehead. Scout was pulled away from them by the Rundown's pitcher. The teenager was absolutely furious. "What the f*ck, man? Are you trying to sabotage our team or some sh*t...?" Scout zoned out the other curses thrown at him and continued to stare at the unconscious girl. He watched as the EMT's took her into an ambulance and drove away. He watched as the ambulance disappeared behind several buildings, frantically heading towards its destination. Scout walked away from the pitcher, much to his annoyance, and walked over to the Rundown's captain. "Excuse me, sir? What's her name?"

(Y/N) slowly opened her eyes and noticed that she was in a hospital room. Almost immediately, a large pain bombarded her head as she looked around. Her parents were in the room, talking to a doctor. She slowly got up, but her father quickly laid her down. The doctor walked over to her and smiled. (Y/N) was confused. What happened? Why was she in a hospital with a German-looking doctor? The strange man began to explain everything to her, including all the tests  she had to take and about the internal bleeding in her head.
"Don't vorry," the doctor assured her. "It vill most likely stop bleeding by itself. But, you vill have to stay here for a day. Okay?" (Y/N) nodded, still confused and now scared. The doctor smiled. "Alright. Mister and Missus (L/N)? May u speak vith you outside for a moment, bitte?"
As her parents left the room, (Y/N) began to piece her own memories together. The last thing she remembered was the boy hitting the baseball. Who was he anyway?

"Ma! I wanna visit (Y/N) in the hospital!" Scout proclaimed at dinner. Everyone stared at him, including his Ma's mysterious boyfriend.

"(Y/N)? Who's that, sweetie?"

"That girl at the game...I...I want to tell her-"

"That you love her, don't ya!" One of his brothers cracked up. Scout glared at him.

"No! That I'm sorry for hitting her! I feel...really...really bad about it." His Ma smiled and turned to her boyfriend.

"Hmm...well this is rare. Hey, Francis, I think we might arrive a little late to that festival we had planned, okay? I'm going to take him to the hospital to visit his little 'girlfriend'..."

"Ma! I don't even know her!" Scout exclaimed. His Ma laughed. "Yes, of course you don't. Is that fine, Francis?"

Francis nodded. "I'm perfectly fine with that." Scout grinned.

"Really? You'll let me go?" His Ma nodded. "HECK YEAH!!!"
