Thanks, partner! :D

It was a dark night and rain poured down like falling rocks. Most of the  RED and BLU team was huddled around the shield both Medics made, including you. You sighed. It has been three months since you got your job back, but you despised working with the (Team Name)s. You all hated each other. How would this have been a good idea? Besides, if you stayed with them for much longer you all might end up being friends and...well...the Administrator wouldn't be happy. You looked up at the robots' base a few miles away. The robots were obviously not going to attack any time soon because of the rain. You looked back at the (Team Name) Engineer and Pyro. They were the only ones not with the group. Engie was with his level 3 sentry, protected by the shield surrounding it. Meanwhile, Pyro was dancing and playing in the rain. However, you were just looking at Engie. You sort of hated it when he would separate from the group and stay with his sentry all day. It was okay in battle, but there wasn't any reason for it now. As the group talked to each other, you stood up and left the protection of the shield, being drenched immediately. You walked over to Engie, who quickly noticed.

"Hey, Engie."

"Howdy, (Y/N)." You sat by him and smiled.

"Figured you needed some company."

"Well that's mighty fine of you, (Y/N), but I already had company. Pyro's over there!"

You rolled your eyes. "He probably hasn't looked at you at all since the rain started!" Engie chuckled.

"You're probably right." You both sat in an awkward silence for a while before you asked:

"Engie, why can't the robots come out in the rain?" He smiled.

"Well, ya see, if they did that we wouldn't need to fight! They'd just fry themselves!" You laughed. Engie is so smart, probably the smartest guy you knew. Who else do you know has eleven science PhDs?

"Uh...hey, I was, uh, wondering...if I could ask you something real quick." You turned back to him, curious.

"Huh? Sure! Ask me anything!" Engie nodded.

"Alrighty then. Um...I was, uh, wonderin' if..."

"...?"

"Uh...I was...ya know what? Never mind." You frowned.

"Come on! Tell me!"

"I don't know...I might ask someone else..." You began to playfully shake Engie. "Tell meeeeeeee!" He sighed.

"Fine! I was wondering if you could help hold down Pyro while I fix his equipment."

"Sure! See that wasn't so hard!" You smiled. "But why do I need to hold down Pyro...?"

"He doesn't want anyone to touch his flamethrower. He can never part with it!" He pointed at the flamethrower laying beside Pyro. "See? He even has it out in the rain beside him! I'm going to need someone to hold him down for me cause he'll make a big ruckus if one of us touches it!"

"Like Heavy?" Engie nodded. "Exactly! But Heavy can understand! There's something about Pyro that makes him not understand!" He sighed. "So ya will help?" You nodded and he smiled. "That's great!" You looked up at the sky again.

"It doesn't look like it'll get better anytime soon..." As if on cue, lightning lit up the sky, followed by a crack of thunder. You jumped. "Of course it doesn't..." You turn to Engie to see him yelling at Pyro to get under the shield. Lightning comes again and Pyro yells out, running into the forest.

"Ah, hell..." Engie muttered. He turned to you. "Come on (Y/N)! We gotta get him!" You nodded and you both quickly ran after him. However, the forest quickly proved to be an obstacle in catching up with the pyromaniac. Branches and roots had to be avoided and the woods were horribly dark, making it hard to see. Yet, Engie and you tried your hardest to catch Pyro, calling out his name. After a few minutes, Pyro disappeared into the woods. You and Engie stopped to rest.

"He couldn't have gone too far..." You said. You called out his name. No response. Engie took a few deep breaths before calling out his name as well.

"That boy...(Y/N) should we split up or nah?" You began to observe your surroundings, looking for any sign of Pyro or where he could have gone. Pyro did leave behind muddy footprints on the wet ground. "I don't think it'll be long before we find him. We should stay toge-AAAAAAH!" You tripped on a root and, trying not to get dirty, grabbed Engie. He fell down with you. You both landed with a loud thud.

You opened your eyes to find Engie on top of you and for him, vice versa. You both quickly began to get up, apologizing and blushing. "At least none of us is hurt..." Engie muttered. "We need to be careful. The water's  eroding the dirt away, revealing these roots. He looked at the footprints and nodded. "And soon these footprints will be washed away. We got to hurry!" He took your hand. "Come on!" You and Engie was walking around when the rain suddenly stopped.

As you continued the search, you noticed something in the distance. You heard the sound of an engine running. "Engie...?" He apparently heard it to. He stopped and looked up at the robots' base, which was barely visible due to the trees. You looked up, too, curious at what could have been happening. The door to the base was coming down.

"Dagnabit, dammit!" The two of you began to run and frantically call Pyro's name. Thankfully, you found him by a tree with a butterfly on his finger. "PYRO!" He turned to the two of you running towards him.

"mph?"

"Pyro!" You reached him first and hugged him. "Goddammit, Pyro, you scared us."

"Agh!" You and Pyro turn around to see Engie face flat on the ground.

"Crap!" You both run to him and picked him up. "Are you alright, Engie?!" You asked, looking at his leg. He twisted his ankle. Great.

"Agh...I'm fine sweetheart. We just...need to...get back to the others..." You could hear the sound of gunfire a couple of miles away. "Can ya just, agh, help me get to the battlefield? We'll find Medic and I'll be good." You nodded and both you and Pyro helped him onto both of your shoulders. You carefully helped him back, not caring that mud was getting all over your clothes.

You soon arrived at the battlefield, tired. "Medic!" You called out, looking out for robots. A Scout robot headed towards you. "Shit..." Pyro shot him in the face, causing the robot to fall to the ground. "Thanks, Pyro." You looked back at the battlefield and found the (Your Team Name) Medic pocketing your Heavy. "MEDIC!!" He turned to you and immediately came running over. However, a loud boom made him fall to the ground. "SHIIIIIT!" You cursed. You couldn't wait for him to respawn! You needed him now and the (Team Name) Medic was nowhere to be seen. Engie looked at the MediGun on the ground.

"Get the MediGun...I'll tell you how to use it." You obeyed, telling Pyro to hold onto him.

"You know how to use this?" You asked. Engie smiled and nodded.

"Who do ya think made this? That doc might have found out how to heal everyone but someone had to make the gun!" Wow. You never thought of that before. "Now, this is what you do..." You quickly followed Engie's instructions and healed his injury, which excited you a bit. He walked over to you and smiled. "Thanks, sweetheart." He kissed you on the cheek. "Now let's go kick shoot some robots!"
