Laurine's P.O.V
Watching the lads rehearse is so much fun. The playful energy on the stage is contagious as the lads tease each other between songs. The bang as Josh falls over makes me jump and Ciara giggles.
"Josh you need help!" Cian laughs.
Josh grins, pulling himself up.
"I'm sorry Cian I just can't help falling for you." He laughs, stroking Cian's hair.
"Josh!" Ryan groans. "There's a queue."
Dayl nods as Josh begins to laugh.
"I'll have to beat Laurine!"
Dayl scoffs.
"Laurine isn't top of the queue sorry."
Cian laughs.
"You'll always be my number one Dayl!"
Dayl nods still pretending to be annoyed.
"Let's let Romeo get back to his girl then!" Dean suggests,eager.
"You Romeo or him Romeo?" Dayl laughs:
"I can't keep up."
Cian rushes towards us and throws his arms around me, enveloping me in a cuddle.
He doesn't make me let go, keeping an arm around me as we walk.
There's a sudden burst of hurried whispers behind us and Dean mutters something almost inaudible under his breath.
"Cian there's Mel."
Cian's body tenses and he glances at me anxiously.
"Who's..." I begin but Cian hushes me, urging me back towards Dayl.
Dayl puts his arm around me where Cian's had been.
A beautiful young woman walks towards us.
"Mel" Cian calls walking towards her and away from us.
"Cian!" She exclaims, seeming happy to see him.
The rest is inaudible. Dayl gently steers me away from them as all of the rest the lads walk away.
Dean has no grip on Ciara, isn't even next to her so why am I being restrained?
As we walk away I glance back over my shoulder.
Cian has his back to me.
Who is that girl?
What if she's an ex? A next?
Is she his girlfriend?
My mind races. What if I'm being played?
Ciara seems to be having similar thoughts as she watches me carefully.
Would Cian do that?
I don't know him all that well yet, maybe he would.
We all turn the corner, out of sight.
And then Cian returns.
He breathes a sigh of relief.
I catch him make eye contact with Dean as we start to walk again.
"Crisis averted" he mouths.
"Who was that?" I ask.
Cian looks like he's deliberating the answer.
"Oh just an old friend."
Dayl looks at Dean and shakes his head.
Is he lying?
