prologue

"Crap, it's the first day back to school, and I'm already gonna be late!" Seokmin exclaimed as he ran through the hallways to his biology class. He had been talking to his friend Soonyoung and had lost track of time.

He raced towards his classroom, muttering curses under his breath and trying to avoid bumping into people. As he finally approached his classroom, he grinned with relief. Unfortunately, he failed to notice a boy coming around the corner. As the two collided, the boy who Seokmin ran into fell to the ground.

"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Seokmin asked worriedly. He put out his hand to help the boy stand up but the boy refused his help. The boy stood up and dusted himself off silently as Seokmin continued to apologize profusely. Seokmin quickly picked up all of the boy's books and handed them to him.

"I really am sorry about that. I should've watched where I was going. Are you hurt anywhere?" Seokmin said to the boy. The boy shook his head, grabbed his books from Seokmin, and quickly ran away. Seokmin awkwardly looked at the ground where the boy had just been, then remembered he was almost late for biology and quickly ran into his biology classroom just as the bell rang. He walked over to his friends Mingyu and Seungkwan and put his bag down next to them as Seungkwan immediately bombarded him with questions.

"Seokmin, are you okay? We saw the collision man! What happened? Did that guy get mad at you? Did he say anything?" Seungkwan asked. "I'm alright," Seokmin replied. "That guy you ran into...is he okay too?" Mingyu replied. "I don't know...he didn't respond when I asked him. He didn't say anything at all."

The teacher then began the lesson, cutting off any further conversation between the three, which left a dazed Seokmin thinking about the boy he had just ran into. Seokmin had never seen him before. Who was that boy?

A/N: if you don't know the title of the song linked, it'll probably make no sense as to why it's there...it's called "The Beginning" and it's by Japanese rock band One OK Rock. anyways, this is just a Seoksoo fic I've started for fun. a friend convinced me to write it and I'm honestly just writing it for myself and her bc why not? if you do actually decide to read this, I hope you enjoy it! also, since the only things I know about Korean high schools are from Korean dramas, the school in this story will be functioning how American schools, or at least my school, work. thank you and I hope you enjoy this fic!
