~CHAPTER 23~

*Cody’s P.O.V*

I sat there on the curb with my head in my hands, the tears spilling out of my eyes. What the hell did I just do? I felt someone put their arm around me. I looked up and saw Alli with her head on my shoulder.

“Did she already text you?” she shook her head no.

“do you want to tell me what happened?” I didn’t respond. “Can I guess?” I still didn’t respond. “She finally cracked didn’t she?”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked in between my tears. I should not be crying this much.

“She doesn’t express much very often, so when she does, it gets out of hand.”

“I put all the blame on her, when I didn’t mean it like that. She spends so much time with those guys, I couldn’t help but-“

“you’re jealous. Its obvious, you get so protective over her when they’re around.”

“She seems more interested in them than she does me.” That got a slap in the arm.

“Are you stupid?”

“Apparently.”

“We need to go home so you can talk to her. You both suck at expressing how you feel.” Wow gee thanks Sis, I appreciate it.

We headed home and I could see the light on in her room, I ran inside and stopped when I got to the top of the stairs. I still wasn’t clear if we had officially broken up yet or not? I hope not. My phone vibrated, it was Alli telling me they were heading out to get ice cream. I went to knock on her door, the door was cracked so I looked in, her back was facing me and you could hear her crying. I got an idea.

I ran into my room and grabbed my guitar, she always loved when I sang to her. I walked into the hallway and started playing one of her favorite songs, One Step Closer by Shane Harper:

She opened the door to the hallway and stood in her doorway, the tears obvious in her eyes. I looked her in the eyes, the tears threatening to spill from my eyes. I continued singing.

She walked closer to me and I couldn’t tell what she was going to do. So I stopped singing and put the guitar on the ground. She just came up and gave me a hug. With my arms around her waist I continued singing to her.

“I know, but sshhh you’re ruining the moment.” I said sarcastically, she looked up at me and smiled.

A/N: Ok so sadly, the book is coming to an end..sigh...yes there are only 8 chapters left *insert random sad face here* and NO I don't think I'll be doing a sequel, I kind of like where I ended the story :)
