"Where did he go?!" I hear Erza say looking around frantically.
"We need to find him!" Happy said flying over tree tops to find where Gray could have possibly disappeared to.
"Come on, standing here and doing nothing isn't going to help find him." I say as I start to run in the direction we were heading.
Step after step. I kept running even though I felt like all my muscles were about to break I had to keep running. I wasn't even sure if any of the others had followed me, I didn't care.
"Y/N!" I heard someone shout behind me. I turn around feeling sweat drip down my face, "You need to slow down." It was Rogue. I was so relieved to see him.
All I could do was let out a weak smile.
"Were you crying?" He took the final steps until we were face to face and wiped the tears off my face.
"Well how would you feel if your uncle that you just met suddenly disappear?" I replied letting a small sob and chuckling sound, trying to lighten the mood though I don't think it particularly worked.
"I would feel... terrible." He finished as he looked into my eyes his hand still resting on my cheek. I looked away this was a little akward and yet I liked him so didn't I want this to happen?
I did want it to happen but it would be weird since he never told me and never showed any signs of it, at least none that I could tell. I looked him right back in the eye.
"Hey guys! We finally caught up to you!" Natsu, he just had to ruin the moment. I let out a sad sigh, my once in a life time chance with Rogue was down the drain.
Rogue and I both looked away and he let go of me. I let out a small smile and let it go away quickly, upset about the moment being ruined.
"So where do you think Gray went?" Natsu asked looking around the city buildings towering all around us.
"He could have gone anywhere." Wendy said the buildings taking her breath away.
"Great." Rogue growled unhappily as he looked around the city in front of us, "Well I'm going to check in the woods. " Rogue said turning around to face the clump of trees that stretched out for miles.
"I'll go with Rogue." I say. Hopefully Sting won't come with us. I want to be alone with Rogue.
I looked over at Sting waited for him to say something but all he did was look at Rogue and wink.
What could that mean. Ugh it doesn't matter. I look at Rogue and all he does was give me a subtle nob and then we were off, heading straight towards the woods.
Once we entered I couldn't help but feel a little spooked. I honestly loved the woods but there was something about these woods that made me feel uneasy. I looked around nervously trying to find anything that could pose a threat but there was nothing. Only trees and Rogue. I looked at him and saw him calmly walking. He truly did look amazing and I wanted to confess my feeling, but I don't think he thinks the same about me. Besides there are so many other girls out there that he would rather date, why even bother with me?
I let out a small sigh and looked to the ground and started kicking a rock, following my pace.
"Hey Y/N?" Rogue looked at me his facial expression staying the same unlike how it usually changes in front of me. I felt my heart break inside.
"Yes?" I didn't look up from my rock that I was kicking.
"You worried about Gray?" He asked the simple question and I looked at his face. His expression was the same but his voice was full of concern.
"Yeah, I am." My reply was rather simple but I really did mean it.
"Well I promise you we will find your uncle."
I looked back down to the ground watching all the roots crisscrossing underneath our feet. All of a sudden I felt a brushing feeling on my hand.
I ignored it at first thinking that it was only a bug. It kept going after a few minutes and I looked down to swat at it with my free hand when I saw that it was Rogue's hand.
"Ummm... Rogue?" I said looking at him hoping that he wouldn't notice the blush growing on my face. He looked down at our hands that were touching and jumped back holding his hand up and a small blush appeared on his face.
"Oh, I'm so sorry about that, Y//N!" he looked at me with an apologetic expression.
I just let out a small chuckle at his reaction, which quickly turned into a serious expression.
"I need to tell you something Y/N." he looked at me straight in the eye, they were soft yet very serious.
I just stared at him not able to speak.
"I..."He looked at the ground with a huge grin on his face as he started to shake it, "I have feelings for you Y/N. I want to be with you."
As soon as he spoke my throat felt like it was glued together. I had no idea what to say. It was silent for a few seconds, but not the awkward silence, it was nice.
"I... I do too." I said after finding the right words.
Rogue looked up at me, his face turning serious but at the same time a small smile tugged on his lips.
Rogue started to lean forward and I felt myself leaning in too. I was so excited this was happening. Right before our lips met I pulled away. "Sorry Rogue but I don't think we should kiss." I look at the ground embarrassed. I wanted to kiss him, I really did, but we just said we liked each other, kissing right then would be moving a little to fast.
"I get it." He whispered leaning away looking me in the eyes in an almost loving way, "Whenever you're ready."
"Thanks." I murmured.
"Aww, why didn't you kiss!" I heard a very familiar voice whine behind me and I instantly knew who it was. I turned around to face Sting. He was looking at us all smug.
"I didn't think we should !" I said defiantly at Sting rolling my eyes, "Besides how long were you watching?"
"Oh you know the whole time." He said casually casting a glance at Rogue smirking.
"What?" I said turning around to face Rogue who only blushed a deep shade of red.
"Rogue told me he liked you a long time ago. He was waited for the perfect moment when you two where alone and this was the perfect opportunity. I just couldn't help but follow to see if anything interesting actually happened."
I couldn't help but blush at his explanation, well except for the last part, I would have much preferred us to actually have been alone.
"Come on guys we need to get a move on." Rogue looked at the two of us letting out a small chuckle at our exchange, "We did come this way to try and find Gray after all."
