The next morning, you woke up, and started to pack up first thing.

Leo kept yawning. You weren't tired, but yawns were contagious. (I'm yawning just writing about yawns. How many of you guys yawned while reading this paragraph? Yawn yawn yawn.)

When you had finally got everything back into the two backpacks, you started heading into town to catch the bus.

The two of you had traveled from Montana to Minnesota in a day. Your goal today was to get to Indiana. You'd have to pass through Wisconsin, then Illinois to get there.

It was a long, uneventful day, just sitting mostly in silence with Leo snoring softly next to you. At one point, you got bored, and pulled a book out of your backpack. You liked reading. Before you met Leo, that was one of the major things you did in your tree.

After a few hours, and a few more bus switches, you finally stopped in Indiana. The city you stopped in was called Lafayette. You thought it was a pretty big city, but Leo said he had seen bigger.

"Have you ever Seen New York? That's one big city."

You had never seen New York, but you would soon.

You camped out for another night, and the next morning you were right back on the buses.

Today, you would have to pass through Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the tip of New Jersey. By nighttime, you'd be at Leo's home.

"So, Leo, you live on Long Island, right?"

"Yeah," he replied. "In a clearing in the woods."

You furrowed your brow. You thought he lived in a more urban setting.

The day was much like the last, except this time, Leo wasn't as tired. He kept reading your book over your shoulder.

"Sally turned to David and started to whine." He read out loud.

"'Why would you just leave me there to die? You're supposed to be my big brother, and take care of me.'" He said in the most annoying, high-pitched voice he could muster.

"'Sally, don't fight with me in front of your friend.'" He did David's voice all deep, and with false manliness.

"Sally immediately turned and looked at me. 'I'm sorry for letting you see that.' She was acting really formal with me, despite being her best friend."

You marked your place, and snapped the book shut before Leo could read anymore. He read it like a robot might, with no emotion, and it was getting on your nerves.

Leo snickered.

"What? I think I could make it big in the audiobook industry."

You smacked him lightly over the head with your book, and Leo laughed.

You felt a little embarrassed, because he had started reading at a bit of an unintersting part, so he probably thought the whole book was like that.

You sighed and leaned back in your seat.

"You tired?" he asked.

You shook your head.

Leo didn't speak for a while. He looked really bored.

He started digging around in his toolbelt, and pulled out a black marker.

"What do you plan to do with that?" you asked.

"Recreate my past."

That sounded like it was deep, and philosophical, but Leo just pulled off the cap, and started writing on his arm.

It was upside down to you, but easy to read.

"Hot stuff, huh?" you asked.

Leo grinned, and rolled up his t-shirt sleeves, exposing his scrawny arms.

Leo seemed to notice you looking at his arms.

"Can't get enough of these guns, huh?" he joked, flexing his arms.

"No, I actually think you're pretty scrawny."

"Scrawny? Baby, I invented scrawny. Scrawny is the new sizzlin' hot!" he said. "And I GOT the scrawny."

You laughed.

Leo started to draw a tatoo on his arm, bus the bus shook a little bit, and he drew a line down his arm by accident.

"Uh, I meant to do that."

He suddenly started at incorporating his mistake into his design, grinning happily.

But he got a far off look in his eyes, and put the cap back on the marker.

He started running his hands through his curly hair, and put the marked back into his belt.

"What's wrong?" you asked.

"I'm, uh, just remembering the last time we did this."

"'We'?" you asked.

"Uh, me and my friend Hazel. I, uh. . .you know what? Nevermind. I'll tell ya later."

He frowned the rest of the way to New York.

You were finally dropped off in Manhattan.

"It's such a cool city!" you exclaimed.

Leo smiled, and got a cab.

You were taken somewhere close to Long Island, and dropped off.

You payed the driver the rest of your money, and waited for Leo to get out.

When he did, the cab driver left.

"Okay, we're really close." Leo said excitedly. "Just follow me!"

He held onto his backpack straps, and ran up the hill you faced.

You followed closely behind.

When you got to the top of the hill, you saw a wondrous sight. At the bottom of the hill, was a camp. There were cabins, a house, and an open roofed pavilion.

"Woah, what is this place?" you asked, but Leo was already running down the hill.

You followed behind him.

A few people turned, and when they saw him, they all started screaming.

A bunch of kids came up and started to drown Leo in hugs. He looked like he was being crushed.

You could see at least five people hugging him, and two people standing by him, looking really happy.

You saw two people walk out of a cabin painted black. One was a girl with curly golden brown hair, and and the other was a boy with messy black hair.

You could hear the girl yell Leo's name, then join the other huggers. The boy kind of just kept heading towards him.

You kept inching closer, but you didn't want to disrupt the moment.

One of the non-huggers looked at you.

She was a girl with curly blonde hair. She looked like she usually had a stern gaze, but also smiled a lot. She was smiling now, but it wilted a bit when she saw you.

"Leo, did you bring her?" you heard her ask.

Leo turned and looked at you. He gestured for you to come up to him.

"This is (y/n)." he said. "She helped me get back here."

The blonde girl put a hand on your shoulder softly.

"Thank you for bringing him back. We thought he was dead."

After another minute of taking in Leo's presence, people started to look at you.

"Wait, if you're a mortal, how are you in here?" asked a boy with black hair, and astonishing green eyes.

Everybody turned to look at you, except for Leo.

"There's only one answer to that question." he replied, slowly turning to look at you. "She's not."

Hope you liked the chapter!

Anywho, hasta la pasta!
