Cassandra's: POV:
"Hey Cassy!" Billie said with a grin as he walked into the kitchen.
"Hey." I said. 'Don't chicken out, just do it!' a voice in my head screamed.
"Hey, Dad?" I asked.
"Hmmm?" he responded, drinking some water.
"This guy, Logan asked me out on a date on Saturday and I said yes. Is that okay?" I said quietly. Billie nearly spit out his water and his expression went from happy to straight-faced. Shit.
"I don't know, what did he ask you to do?" Billie said.
"Just to walk around Berkeley." I said.
"I don't think this is a good idea." Billie said.
"What? Why?" I asked with a defensive tone to my voice.
"I don't know this boy and do you? You've gone to school for what a month? Maybe? If he's asking you out this soon, there is obviously something else he has in mind." he said and I began to get angry.
"Y'know not all guys are like that right? Logan is an awesome guy! Please let me go."
"Even if I knew the guy, I don't think it's a good idea to have two kids roaming the streets of Berkeley alone."
"I'm not a kid!!" I squealed.
"You're 16 so like it or not, you are a kid and I'm not okay with you walking in Berkeley alone." he began to yell.
"C'mon! I used to walk in Berkeley all the time! I lived there for 15 years! I know my way around!"
"Cassy, no. I don't want you going on this date."
"How did you react when Joey had his first date? We're you this uptight?" I asked.
"That was different. I know Joey, I know he's a good kid and I knew where he was going was safe. I don't want you going on this date, Cassy."
"Dad! Please!" I screamed.
"Cassandra, I said no and that's final." he said through gritted teeth.
"Mom would've let me go." I muttered.
"Well I'm not your mom now am I?" Billie spat. My eyes began welling up with tears. I can't believe he said that. What an ass, I didn't say another word. I just let my tears flow as I ran into my room. I slammed the door and collapsed on my bed in a fit of tears. How dare he stoop that low. I curled myself up into a little ball and began crying harder than before.

Billie's POV: Shit. I rubbed the back of my neck and sat down on a chair at the island.
"BILLIE JOE!" Adrienne's voice called. She was angry.
"W-what?" I asked standing up.
"Don't play innocent with me! Do you understand what you just did?" she screeched,
"Yeah. I told Cassy she couldn't go on her date." I said.
"Exactly. Now what were your 'reasons' " she asked putting quotes around 'reasons'.
"Why did you air quote reasons?" I asked.
"Answer me." she spat.
I flinched away and said, "Okay, Okay, I said I didn't know the boy and I don't feel comfortable with her walking alone in Berkeley."
"Okay and do you know what that translates to in her mind?" I looked down and shook my head. "It translates to you don't trust her-"
"No! Adie that's not it!" I said, loudly.
