Cassandra's POV:

I heard the mumbling of voices. One was a young mans, another was an older woman. Both I didn't recognize. I strained my ears listening for something familiar. There was shuffling, the opening of a door and then, I heard it.

"She's passed out right now, the doctors say she should wake up soon. Thanks Mom, I will tell her you said so...Well obviously I'm
worried it's my daughter we are talking about!...Alright I will call you when she wakes up...Bye."

I knew that voice it was, "Dad." I managed to croak out.

"Shit." I heard him say. "Cassy! You're awake. Don't strain yourself, try to get all your senses working." He said. I felt his hand wrapped around my own so I squeezed back. "Can you open your eyes?" He asked.

"I-think-so." I said. I pried my eyes open and blinked. The light coming down on me was excruciating. "Am I dead?" I asked with a bit of sarcasm in my voice. Billie laughed.

"Well good to see the concussion isn't taking a huge toll on you."

"Con-concussion?" I asked, my speech slightly slurred.

"Do you remember this morning?" Billie asked.

I thought for a moment and said, "Yeah. I had a soccer game and-the girl, from my old school. She kicked a ball at my face and then-oh ow." As it all came flooding back to me, I rubbed the back of my head.

"You hit the back of your head pretty hard, Miss King." A middle aged woman said, stepping into the room wearing scrubs and a white coat.

"So that means I'm at the hospital." I said quietly.

"Hi, I'm Doctor Reid." The blonde woman said, shaking my hand lightly. "You had a pretty bad concussion and have been here since 10 am."

My jaw dropped, "What time is it now?"

"7pm." She said and I nodded. "We ran some tests while you were passed out, you won't need to spend the night here," I mentally cheered. "However you will have to take pain killers, two, twice a day for 3 weeks and you won't be able to play sports for 10 weeks." I felt tears in my eyes. Ten weeks of no soccer, that's the whole season, unless we are in the championships.

"Hey it will be okay." Billie said, rubbing my back.

"Mr. Armstrong, I need to give you the information and have you sign her release forms." Dr. Reid said. I grumbled something like a no and grabbed onto Billie's arm.

"Adrienne, the boys, Cole, Travis and Valarie are here. Do you want me to send them in?" Billie asked, I nodded a bit pathetically. Billie followed Dr. Reid out and I was life alone. Not a minute later did Adrienne come in sending me a smile that could cure cancer.

"Oh Cassy! I'm so glad you're alright." She said hugging me softly. At this point I could talk properly and I was sitting up.

"Yeah me too." I smiled. Behind her came Valarie who had an apologetic smile on her face.

"Val!" I squealed.

She smiled and squealed back, "Cassy!" And then hugged me tightly. As we hugged I heard bodies come into the room.

"Cole!" Travis mock squealed.

"Travis!" Cole mocked back before they gave each other a big hug.

"HA. HA. Very funny." I spat and rolled my eyes, turning to Valerie.

"I'm so glad you're okay!" she smiled and I smiled back. her phone rang and she answered. she hung up and said, "My mom is here to pick me up. See you soon?" I nodded and she left.

"Bye!" she called.

"Bye!" I said, giving both Joey and Jakob big hugs.

"Well glad your not dead." Jakob said awkwardly.

"I'm still going to kill you when I get out of here."

"Why?" Travis asked.

"Oh uh-"

"Because last night, I got a front row seat to Cassy and Logan sucking face in his car!" Jakob smirked.

"Thank you Jakob." I said and facepalmed.

"Yes, thank you Jakob." Adrienne said and laughed. "I'm to go meet up with Billie, will you be okay Cassy?" Adrienne asked and I nodded as she left.

"Oh Cassy, get some!" Cole teased.

"Not with family in the room, Cole!" I squealed and slapped him.

"So when do you get out of this dump?" Travis asked.

"Tonight I guess, and not to sound rude, but Travis, Cole, why are you guys here?"

"OUCHHHH. We were with Joey when he found out you were here and so we just came with him." Travis replied.

"Oh okay. Have you guys been here all day?" I asked.

"Yeah. But that's okay. This hospital surprisingly has good food." Joey said and I rolled my eyes.

"Oo I'm hungry. Lets go get food!" Jakob whined.

"We can't just leave Cassy." Joey protested.

"Go a-"

I was interrupted by Cole who said, "I'm not hungry, so you guys go! I will stay with Cassy."

"You sure?" Travis asked and Cole nodded. The boys left and it was just me and Cole.

'You should've gone." I said.

"No. It's fine, we've spent all day in the cafeteria anyways."

"Do you know who won the game?" I asked.

"Piedmont." He smiled.

"Well that's good." I sighed looking down.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked, sitting in the chair next to my bed and grabbing my hand.

"I can't play for 10 weeks, that's almost the entire season if we don't make the championships." I felt tears threatening to spill out of my eyes.

"Shhh. It's okay. Don't cry." He whispered, wiping all my tears away.

"Thanks." I murmured.

Cole smiled and said, "Logan is on his way, I figured you would want to see him." I nodded but didn't say anything. It felt nice to have Cole be there for me. Cole must've understood I wanted silence so he sat in his chair comfortably, not letting go of my hand. A few minutes passed and my hospital room door opened with Logan stepping inside.

"Logan." I smiled sitting up. Cole dropped my hand as soon as he saw Logan. I gave him a frown but turned back to Logan.

"Cassy! You're alright." He said and came over to hug me.

"Oh you're still here." He said, a bit rudely, to Cole.

"Yeah. I don't think she wanted to be alone." Cole answered.

"Yeah okay, well thanks for staying, you can go now."

"LOGAN," I squealed, slapping his arm, "Unless you want to witness Joey and Jakob scarfing down nachos, stay." I said. Cole laughed and sat back down. Logan huffed but sat down in the other side of me.

"So Cassy, have you made your decision on the party?" Logan asked. Really?

"Look, I got a concussion I don't think it's a good idea." I replied.

"Oh C'mon it's just a concussion!" Logan whined and my jaw dropped. Just a concussion?

"Really Logan? Just a concussion? Could you be more inconsiderate! She can't play soccer for 10 weeks! And it's not like her dad is going to let her do much. I love you Cassy, but don't deny it, your dad will have you on lockdown until he is 102% sure you're okay. And do you remember what happened last time she was at a party? Not her fault, but still! Have you ever had a concussion? Even a month after it's over you still get killer headaches, loud music and alcohol is not good for her right now!" Cole yelled at Logan. I mentally cheered but my jaw just dropped more.

"Fuck off dude. You aren't her boyfriend, you can't tell her what to do." Logan snapped.

"Just because you are her boyfriend doesn't mean you can tell her what to do, but as her friend, basically brother, it is my job to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid, and you are making my job really difficult." Cole growled.

"Get out and leave Cassy alone." Logan hissed.

"No." Cole stood his ground.

"Get. Out." Logan spat, shoving Cole towards the door. Cole shot me a sympathetic glance and shook out of Logan's grasp. He glared at Logan and then walked himself out.

"Hah. What a pussy." Logan yelled after him. Cole shut the door and mouthed 'fuck you' to Logan. My mouth was still open from what just happened but I finally found my way to speak.

"Logan you can't just-"

"I can. I don't like the way he acts around you." He sneered.

"That's none of your concern. We have a...different relationship but it doesn't mean anything! He's like my brother!" I said calmly.

"I don't want you talking to him ever again." He growled.

"Excuse me? You can't tell me who I can and can't hang out with!" I yelled.

"Watch me. You can't talk to him he's obviously loves you!" He yelled.

"Well yeah, I love him too! Again he's like my brother, Logan! Are you threatened by Cole? Is your self-esteem really that low or do you just not trust me?" I screamed.

"It's not you! It's him! I don't want you talking to him because you guy hang out and before I know it you two will be fucking!" He screeched.

"You're being so possessive! But I'm sorry I can't do that Logan. I'm going to talk to Cole whether you like it or not. He practically lives at my house! My family has gone on vacation with his for god sakes! You can't dictate my life. And what you said the other night about my dad controlling me, you don't want him controlling me because YOU want to do that! And I won't fall for it! With my dad, I don't happen to mind because he wants what's best for me unlike you. You want me to go to parties and kiss on you in front of everybody so they know you aren't single. Deny it all you want but that's what you really want from me!" I snapped.

"Not true. Now choose Cassy. Him or me?" He yelled.

"Logan, I'm with you! He isn't going to change that." I said.

"So you choose him." He spat.

"I didn't say that."

"That's what you meant."

"You know what Logan? Talk to me when you get over this possessive jealousy thing. It's an ugly side to see coming from someone whose so good looking." I said.

"Fine. I will!" He yelled, before storming out.

A few minutes passed and I sat shocked. Cole popped his head into the room timidly and all I could say was, "At least he admitted he was being jealous and possessive." And then broke down into tears.

"Don't cry Princess. You're to pretty for this. This is all my fault." He said, sitting on my bed.

"No it's not. Logan is an ass. He thinks because we are friends and we hug and kid around we are going to have sex. I'm surprised he hasn't attached Ryan yet." I said, hugging him.

"He's a douche. You deserve better than him." Cole said. There was a sound and my hospital door opened.

"Is everything okay in here?" Billie asked, trying to act calm.

"Not really. Logan and I got into a fight and I'm upset about soccer." I said.

"I'm so sorry Cassy." Billie said.

I nodded when Joey walked back in and said, "You need me to kick Logan's ass? I can get Cole and Travis to help." Joey half-heartedly teased.

"No. Thanks though." I said, laughing through my tears.

"Hello I'm Dr. Dorian, here are Cassandra's clothes and a wheelchair." The doctor said.

"Wheelchair?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's good for you to stay off your feet tonight. You can walk tomorrow. There are a few other restrictions to the concussion too." He answered.

"Like?"

"Well it may cause depression so watch out for that, also loud noises, drugs, alcohol, planes, boats and in extreme cases, cars give major migraines so try to stay away from those for a while." I nodded and he left.

"Boys, out. Cassy needs to change!" Adrienne said, shooing them all out.

"Thanks." I whispered. She smiled softly and helped me get changed. I was wheeled out of the hospital after intense pain killers for my head and sprained wrist. Joey drove home in his car with Travis and Cole. Adrienne drove with Jakob in the front while Billie sat in the back with me.

"You should fall asleep soon with these meds. Are you feeling drowsy?" Billie asked as I leaned on him.

I nodded and asked, "Dad, do I have to go to school tomorrow?"

"Only if you want to." He said. I knew that meant no and I smiled. He began softly humming a tune I knew, it was from Tré. My mind tried to find the lyrics but failed. I just hugged him tighter and fell asleep.
