We arrived at the airport 10 minutes before the flight was meant to take off.
Turns out the traffic in LA is bad 24/7.As soon as the taxi stopped outside the airport Mark ran out and grabbed both of our suitcases before he took off. Heading towards the gate our plane was at.
I quickly paid the taxi driver the fare before I started running after Mark.He was really fast.
I was running as fast as I could and tried to keep up with him but I got stopped at security.
I called after Mark to try and tell him but he was too far ahead to hear me.Mark made it to the gate just in time.
After he leapt over barriers he got to the gate just as they were about to shut the doors.Mark told me later on the plane that the people
at the gate were surprisingly understanding when he told them what had happened, and they said that they could wait 10 more minutes because another passenger hadn't turned up yet. When security finally let me go I ran as fast as I could towards where Mark had went, When I turned around the corner I saw a group of 5 people surrounding Mark, I ran up to the small group and apologised for causing the flight to be delayed.
They told us not to worry about it.
It turned out one of the women recognised me and Mark from YouTube and she explained to us how her daughter was a big fan of both of us so we signed a little card each and gave it to the woman as a thank you for being so kind towards us.
I followed Mark onto the plane. As I looked around I had saw that there was hardly anyone on the plane, there was about 10 people max.
I followed Mark to where our seats were and we sat down and prepared ourselves for the 4 hour flight from Los Angeles to Cincinnati."I am so so so sorry Mark...I never meant for us to be late..." I said as I was buckling my seat belt .
Mark turned round and looked at me.
"Jack look at me. It was not your fault that we were late. The taxi got stuck in traffic. You couldn't of predicted that. Plus it's not like we missed the flight."
I turned and looked at him. I didn't realise I had been crying until Mark wiped away the tears on my cheek with his thumb. He smiled as he done so then he kissed me.
"So just don't worry and enjoy the flight. Ok?"
His smile just made everything better.
I nodded to him 'ok' before he grabbed a book from his bag and opened it to the page he had finished on the night before and continued to read it.
As I started to fall asleep I thought about what his mom would be like and how she would react to Mark having a boyfriend.
See, I already knew that I was, not only the first person Mark had dated since him and his last girlfriend broke up (and it wasn't the best of break ups...it was pretty complicated and it got rather messy) but I was also Mark's first ever boyfriend so I really didn't know how his family would react...
"God Jack stop freaking out about every little thing Okay? His mum is lovely...Just stop panicking."
I thought to myself as the seatbelt sign turned off. I heard Mark take his seat belt off so I did the same. I looked over to see that Mark had headphones on and he was still reading his book.
He looked so perfect. I really didn't deserve him.
I sat back in my seat and closed my eyes.
I tried not to think about arriving in Cincinnati and I slowly began to fall asleep.
