Chapter 56- Oh right

I turned and shifted in my bed not able to sleep, I sat up in my bed and glanced at the other bunk beside me surprised to find it empty, Jenna wasn't there

I slipped out of my bed and went outside and went to Raven's room tapping at the door lightly, less than 5 seconds later he opened the door looking like he's nowhere close to sleep as well

"Can't sleep?" He asked I nodded my head resting my forehead against the door frame of his room, Raven yawned "Me too" he said

"Want to eat?" He asked I smiled up at him -attending balls are quite exhausting- before turning towards the kitchen, we padded down the staircase silently I heard hushed voices comming from the kitchen door

I froze before looking at Raven whose got his eyebrow raised "When would you tell them the truth?" Hail's voice whispered

"I'm not yet ready for that" Jenna said "You have to...sooner or later" Hail said

"And what?" Jenna asked with an edge in her voice "I'll tell them that because I didn't want to stay with Raven I lied, that the whole story about blinding a rogue's mate is just fucking made up?" She added

My jaw dropped open and my hands tightened into a ball till they feel like bleeding burning anger radiated off Raven as he stomped towards the kitchen flinging the door open

"You lied?" Raven asked in a quiet but dangerous voice I followed him to the kitchen, I saw Jenna her face painted with surprise

"Raven" she said softly reaching for Raven who flinched away from her touch "Answer me" Raven demanded with a growl

Jenna hung her head down "I'm sorry" she said and I looked at Hail who was avoiding my gaze "How could you?" Raven said his voice lacing with disgust

"I just didn't want to-" Jenna tried to explain but Raven cut her off "What? You just didn't want to be with me" Raven exclaimed hurt in his voice

"What is going on in here?" A voice demanded with irritation I looked at Alpha Xavier his hair messy his voice clouded with sleep

Jenna rushed towards Alpha Xavier hiding behind his back Jenna whispered something in his ear I froze pain woven it's way through my heart as realization hit me

"You knew" I whispered and Raven looked like he was punched in the gut before he shoved his way out of the room

I took a deep breath "Since when..?" I asked my eyes pleading Alpha Xavier closed his eyes for a second before answering "The day you moved in with Raven" his voice free of emotion

I can't help the sob that escaped my lips as I try to get out of this hell hole Hail tried to stop me but I looked at her "You were supposed to be my friend" I told Hail dissapointment clear in my voice

I grabbed the doorknob to get out of the house when I felt a hand on my arm, the once amazing sparks now felt torture, he turned me around so I was facing him

I puffed my cheeks trying to keep my tears from spilling "Why?" I asked him trying to search his eyes praying that there's an explanation

"She was scared" he explained that's it, I swung my fist and hit his cheek, he showed no sign of pain so I did it again he still wouldnt budge so I punched him again and again and again

"I love you so much" I told him in between punches unstoppable tears slipping through my cheeks I took a deep breath u rested my forehead against his chest trying to find comfort in its steady beats

But it wasn't comforting it was painful, "I love you, I really do" I whispered my voice breaking ever so slightly

"But I'm tired of loving you" I told him raising my head off his chest "Loving you is the most exhausted thing I've ever done" I told him looking directly to his eyes

"So I won't do it anymore" I said before leaving the cabin running towards the woods following Raven's scent I found him his head against a tree a broken expression on his face

Raven stood up hugging me his arms telling me that he truly understands I sobbed "He knew" I told him my voice muffled by his shrit "She lied" he said against my head

I cried until I thought that I'll drop dead with dehydration "You'll be okay" Raven said I shook my head against his chest sobbing harder, his arms tightened around me

"You will be" he assured I shook my head again "No" I said "Yes Ash you will be o-" I slipped out of his embrace cutting him off

"No I won't be, I think I broke my hand when I punched him" I told Raven he laughed tapping my for head playfully

"See Scaredypup you will be okay, you're joking already" he said with a laugh and I laughed with him

"Raven" I called he stopped laughing "Yeah?" He asked raising his eyebrow at me

"I'm searious" I said forcing a smile "Oh...right" he said examining my limp hamd
