"Come on Lee" one of the men said grabbing her hair "What do you want" she asked getting up "You don't get to ask questions" he said yanking on her hair harder "What do you want" she said again slightly firmer "You, your father shot my brother" he chucked her back on the mattress "My father's dead" Amanda assured him "No he's not, you live with him" he shouted "Oh, my adoptive father" she understood "Leroy Jethro Gibbs" he agreed "He also shot my sister" she told him "no matter how you hurt me it won't change anything" she said "Killing you will hurt him" he chuckled "No killing Shannon and Kelly hurt him, but they're already dead" she tried to reason with him, then he left.
He eventually came back, "hello, Kayla your father has paid up" he laughed "He would never pay you" she said following Amanda's lead "He did, three million to let you go" "he wants you back outside the bowling alley in four hours so you better get walking" he laughed walking out and leaving the door open.
Tali looked around, the room wasn't that big it had dusty floors and walls, there where two small barred windows and only a small rotten mattress in one corner. Amanda made the others wait until she was sure all the men had left the she carried Tali up the stairs with Kayla close behind them.
"It's empty let's leave" Kayla said shuffling towards the door "Wait" Amanda called after her "What" she asked confused, surely they needed to get out of there before the guys came back, if they came back "Do you know where we are" Amanda asked sitting Tali on the counter of the small kitchen "No" Kayla said coming back "where are we" "I don't know that's the point although judging from this view Nevada, Utah or Idaho" Amanda said realistically

"The view is nice" Kayla said sitting at the wrecked table "do we just stay here then" she asked "No, we look around find supplies then leave" Amanda said "Supplies" Kayla asked sniggering "we only have to walk" "If we're in Nevada, it's going to take us at least 23 days" "without any breaks" Amanda said emptying the whole cupboards into a bag the men obviously didn't think they would need, she packed up a pillow and two blankets from the single bedroom "We can't be far from other places" she said noticing the lack of sleeping areas and food.
Eventually finding a pair of sharp enough scissors Amanda snipped all the cable ties and they left, Amanda had the pillow, blankets and Tali while Kayla had the food and water. They walked for ages until they found a small town, it was completely abandoned and looked as though it had been a target of a mass killing.
Amanda raided one of the houses where she found a slightly broken double buggy, they put Tali in one side then the food and water in the other and left as quick as they could. They walked for hours, Tali quickly fell asleep she was petrified but exhausted.
When it got late Amanda and Kayla took turns sleeping (in the buggy) and pushing. Amanda knew the general direction of Washington so they slowly walked crossing roads and desert.
The next morning they stopped at the side of the road for breakfast, Kayla made sandwiches with the little food they had then a truck pulled up next to them. The woman inside looked friendly enough she offered them a lift to Idaho which they skeptically agreed to, she loaded the buggy in the back of her truck then Amanda insisted that they sat in the back with it and as there where only two seats left the woman agreed.
She dropped them off outside her sisters house as that's where she was headed, the three girls then set off trying to find the way to Washington.
"Manda where are we" Tali asked "We're in Idaho" Amanda smiled, they ditched the buggy a few roads back as it was only getting in the way now that they had eaten most the food "Where idgawo" Tali asked "It's near home" she smiled letting her run a little in front of them, for a four year old who had been abducted for the second time in her life she seemed quite happy "It's no where near home is it" Kayla asked Amanda when Tali was out of ear shot "It is, it's the state next to Washington, what I don't know is where abouts we are exactly" Amanda said.
They wandered round Idaho for hours eventually settling in an homeless shelter for the night, they saw an old woman alone about to walk in so they joint her which managed to leave them free from questions. They woke up early the next day, had breakfast then left with the same woman.
After almost two hours of wandering around they found signs directing them to Washington which they followed, it took a while to get to Washington but they where getting closer.
Kayla was holding Tali again while Amanda led them through the streets, she didn't have a clue where they where but she didn't tell Tali or Kayla that she just kept leading them through new streets hoping to find something familiar.
Kayla stepped in eventually stopping a police car and asking for directions to NCIS, the cops laughed at first then realised she was being serious
"It's ages away" he said eventually "Believe me it can't be that far" Kayla said asking again "It is, hop in" "we'll sort something out" the other cop said, the girls looked at each other then Amanda checked there ids and they got in.
"So why do you want to go to ncis" the nicer cop asked "Our parents work there" Kayla told him "Yeah, one Chinese, one Black and one Israeli" the other guys laughed assuming they meant the same parents "Actually none of us are related, I'm adopted and this is my friend and my niece" Amanda spoke, the guy shut up after that "What y'alls names" the nicer guy asked "I'm Tali" Tali said happily "Hello Tali, you have a beautiful name" he smiled at the tiny 4 year old in the back "Thank you, it's my aunties, she didn't need it anymore" she said "And the two of you" he asked "I'm Kayla, this is Amanda" Kayla said before Amanda could even open her mouth "Nice names" he smiled "how about surnames" "Vance, Gibbs and David-DiNozzo" Kayla said again before Amanda could stop her "As in Director Leon Vance and Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs" the guy said stunned "Yeah that's them" Kayla said again.
