After I texted Chloe I headed downstairs. Mum was still away in London for her work. She was meant to be home yesterday but is going to be home tomorrow instead. It's annoying how it's basically just me and Ruby again.
"Morning bug, Pancakes or waffles?" Ruby asked as I sat at the breakfast bar
"I don't mind" I mumbled
"I know you wanted mum home yesterday but she is busy and will be home tomorrow" She told me and I nodded
I quickly had breakfast and finished getting ready for school. I didn't want to go but I really didn't have a choice. Me and Chloe have gotten pretty close recently and I would count her as one of my best-friends. She introduced me to one of her friends, Cynthia-Rose. She is so funny and we sometimes hang out with them both at lunch or after school etc. Me and my group of friends don't always hang out with them but sometimes we do.
"Can we pick Chloe up on the way?" I asked Ruby and she nodded
Once we was both ready to go we headed out to the car and made our way to Chloe's house, She was only about 5 minutes away from us and it was on our way anyway. We was currently on our way when Ruby's phone rang. It was mum.
"Can you put that on loud please Bec?"
I nodded and mum began to speak.
"Hey, I'm sorry Ruby but I'm not going to be home tomorrow, My boss wants me to stay another 2 weeks" Mum said and Ruby sighed
I looked at Ruby and dropped my head. Am I even going to see her?! She has been doing this for a while now, it's like she doesn't want to come home and see her daughters!
"Mum are you kidding me?! You've done this more than 3 times now and it's getting really annoying! Do you know how much me and Beca miss you? She thinks you don't want to come and see us. Honestly mum you can say no to your boss! You can do your job here without going on all these work trips!" Ruby spat
"You know I can't do that. I will get fired if I say no and I don't want to get fired. I love this job and I don't want to loose it" Mum said
"You love being away from home?" I spoke up
"Beca! How are you doing Bear?"
"Why would you care mum? You haven't bothered to call me or tell me when you are coming home. You know thinking about it mum, me and Ruby are better off just us two" I said, hanging up
"Do you really mean that bug? Or are you just angry at mum"
"No I mean it. We were fine the last time she did this and we are fine now. I still don't think you should be able to ground me though" I said and she laughed
"I don't think you should be a little shit either but what can you do. Also text Chloe and say we are nearly here"
