Twenty-three

(Thad's POV)

"That's good. Now, put your hands up." I said as I stood in the gym.

I was training some new guys who wanted to become warriors.

They had shown up a few weeks after I became ruler. They'd been tossed from their packs and didn't want to be rogues.

"Good morning, Thad." Adrianna said waking in.

"Morning."

"Have you seen my husband?"

"Last I checked he was in his lab. How's the baby?"

She rubbed her growing belly. "Good."

"Boy or girl?"

"Don't know. We want it to be a surprise."

I chuckled. "You know Seb can see what gender it is right?"

"What?"

I nodded. "He's done it before with pack members."

"That little..." I didn't hear the rest of her sentence because she walked off.

I shook my head and got back to training.

A couple hours later, my head started to hurt and my started ringing.

I dropped to my knees and grabbed my head. My demon and wolf went crazy.

That's when it all came flooding back.

Davina.

Her being kidnapped.

Her death.

"She's back." My demon said.

"What?"

"Our mate is back."

(Davina's POV)

I woke up with a headache and a slight ringing in my ear.

I tried to stand up and got extremely dizzy so I had to sit back down on the bed.

I took that time to glance around the room. I felt like I had been in the room before but I don't remember it. I waited a few minutes before getting up and making my way to the door.

It was locked.

"Hello?!" I yelled.

"Anyone there!?!"

Seconds later a man appeared behind me.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Sebastian but you can call me Seb."

"Seb, where am I?"

"My home."

"Why?"

"I'll explain everything after you do something for me."

"Okay." I said very confused.

"Put this on." He said handing me a ring.

It all felt to familiar.

"Why?"

"I'll tell you after you put it on."

I let out a sigh but put the ring on anyway.

That's when it hit me. It all hit me at once and the pain in my head started again. I sat on the bed and grabbed mg head ad everything came flooding back.

"What do you remember?" Seb asked.

My head hurt so bad that I could speak one word at a time.

"Thaddeus."

"Mate."

"Council."

"Kidnapped."

"You."

"Adrianna."

My head snapped up at the next thing that hit me.

"Death." I whispered. "Seb, I died."

He nodded. "You did."

I gasped. "Oh my gosh. Thad. He must be worried to death."

Seb shook his head. "I wiped everyone's memory of you."

"Why?"

"He was becoming more and more dangerous. The control you had over his demon and wolf was gone. He was going insane. I had to what was best."

"How long have I been gone, Seb?"

"A few months."

"Months?"

He nodded. "I kept your body hidden here in the castle where he'd never find you. Everyone's memories were put in your ring. The second you put it on everyone got their memories back."

"Thad?"

"He's going crazy looking for you. He remembers the past few months plus everything else. He's a bit pissed off at me at the moment. I can feel it."

"I better go huh?"

"Yeah."

Seb showed me the way out and minutes later I was standing outside in the yard in the sunshine.

"Davina?" A familair voice spoke.

I turned to see Thad a few feet from me. He only wore a pair of jeans and his body was covered in a slight layer of sweat.

"Thad." I said as I started to sob.

He closed the distance between us and hugged me tight. He buried his face in my neck and took a deep breath.

"Mine." He growled.

"Yours." I nodded.

He pulled back and covered my face in kisses.

"I love you." He said. "I love you so fucking much. You're never leaving my side again."

"I love you to." I said kissing him.

He kissed down along my neck and when he got to my mark he wasted no time sinking his teeth in. I clutched to him and sunk my nails info his back hard enough to break the skin but he didn't mind.

He pulled back and licked my blood from his lips.

"You are never allowed to leave my side. Understand?"

I nodded.

He lifted me up and carried me inside to our bedroom where he laid me down and reclaimed me time and time again until I couldn't take it anymore.

"Marry me." He said pinning me beneath him.

"What?"

"Marry me. Be my wife. I need you to be mine in every single way. I need to know that you won't leave me. Ever."

"Yes." I nodded.

"Yes?"

I nodded. "Yes, I'll marry you."

He gave me a grin before kissing me. Fiercely.

I wrapped my arms around him and held him tight.

We were never supposed to be together.

But we are.

They tried to tear us apart.

We won.

He was my future. My mate. The love of my life.
