Ashton: yawning sleepily, [Y/N] mumbles my name. I chuckle and glance over at her - she looks like she's going to fall asleep any second.
"What's up?" I respond. She offers me a small smile and shuffles over to me.
"I'm sleepy," she murmurs. I can't help but smile at her. "I can tell," I reply.
[Y/N] gently lays her head on my chest and cuddles up to me. Not really thinking into it, I lay my hand on her waist and pull her closer to me.
"Nanight," she mumbles, her eyes already closed. I chuckle and run my hand over her hair soothingly. Her breathing evens out quickly, telling me she's completely knocked out. I grin and gaze down at her. She looks cute when she's sleeping. She looks cute all the time. I shake the thought from my head. I have to stay out of that territory. She's my best friend. I can't let myself think about this stuff. Completely ignoring my pleas not to, my thoughts drift to her. I love the way that we're at ease with each other, and I love the way she laughs at my jokes. I love her giggle, her smile, her eyes... Really just everything about her. I love her. Shit. Shit - I love her.

Calum: a fake laugh leaves my mouth as [Y/N] tells me about something Luke did earlier on. I wouldn't mind, but she's been talking about him for hours and it's really starting to get on my nerves. Judging by the concerned frown on her face, she's noticed my annoyance.
"Cal?" She says questioningly.
I shake my head and take a deep breath. "It's nothing, I'm just tired. I'll be back soon."
I rush out of the room and into the kitchen - straight into Luke.
"Hey, mate," he says, oblivious to my mood.
"Mmph," I huff in reply, heading for the fridge. I need a beer. I grab one and storm in the direction of my room.
"What's up?" He asks me, blocking my exit. I meet his eyes and glare at him. "Get out of my way." I mutter. I know he hasn't really done anything wrong, but I'm still mad at him. I'm not even really sure why - he was just hanging out with her after all. They're friends too - it shouldn't bother me.
To my surprise, Luke chuckles. "This is about [Y/N], isn't it?" He asks, half smiling. I narrow my eyes at him. How can he see through me this easily? I shrug, and he laughs.
"Have you thought about why you're feeling this way?" I think about his question for a second before I shake my head.
"I think maybe you need to, Cal." He says, and leaves the room. I don't want to think about it, but I do. For hours.
And I come to the one conclusion that I really don't want to.
I love her.

Luke: the TV is playing in the background, but me and [Y/N] aren't really listening to it. We're too lost in our own conversation. It's always like this with us two - we've never needed anything or anyone else - we've always been perfectly content with just each other. It's why we're best friends.
"Alright, time for a staring competition." She declares, and shuffles into minimum proximity of me. I laugh and agree, so our staring contest commences. After not very long I blink and she whoops in triumph. When she doesn't stop teasing me I wrap my arm around her waist and pull her into me, ruffling her hair in the way I know she hates.
"Luke!" She squeals, giggling hysterically.
"Alright lovebirds, not on our shared sofa!" Michael yells jokily, startling both of us.
"Shut up, Mike." [Y/N] laughs, letting his joke slide over her head. I can't help but thinking too far into it. The boys always make jokes like that - about us being together, and she always laughs as if the idea of it is ridiculous. I usually do as well, even though sometimes it stings. It shouldn't sting - she's my best friend - that's it. But... Maybe I want something more. She really is everything I could want in a girlfriend, which is something I have avoided thinking about for such a long time. And I've never met anyone more beautiful - she's gorgeous.
She jumps up, distracting me from my thoughts, and announces that she'll be back in a minute. I wait until she's out of ear shot and I turn to Michael. I must look as panicked as I feel, because he looks concerned.
"Mike," I breathe, "I think I love her."

Michael: tapping my foot impatiently, I shout [Y/N] for what feels like the hundredth time. She's my date for my friends wedding today, and if she doesn't hurry up we're going to be late. Taking her as my date is going to make everyone talk, but they always do. We're just friends, but people can't accept that.
She steps out at the top of the stairs and my heart stops. She looks stunning. I mean, she's always beautiful, but this is different. I can't take my eyes away from her.
"Why are you staring?" She asks nervously as she walks down the stairs.
"S-sorry," I stammer, "you look amazing."
She blushes and looks to the floor. "You look good too, Mike." She compliments me.
---
A slow song starts playing, interrupting mine and [Y/N]'s manic dancing. I take a deep breath and offer her my hand. She smiles slowly and accepts it. I pull her into me and she rests her head on my shoulder. My heart is hammering against my chest because of how close she is. I shouldn't be feeling this way, but I can't help it. All the feelings for her that I've tried desperately to repress for the past few years are coming up now. This feels right, and part of me hates it. My thoughts are going crazy. I want her, and despite my attempts to make the feeling go away, it won't. But it's more than that. I pray that she can't feel how fast my heart is beating as I admit to myself that I love her.
