Ashton: the teacher interrupts your conversation before you get a chance to reply to Ashton's question.
"I've had enough of you, Ashton. Get out. You too, [Y/N]!"
"What? Why?!" You demand, standing up.
"It takes two people to have a conversation. Both of you get out, now."
You hate her - everyone hates her. She's the most unfair person in the world.
You follow Ashton out of the room moodily and skulk down the corridor to the principals office.
"Sorry for getting you in trouble," Ashton apologises, frowning. He's weirdly nice to you - you're pretty sure you're the only person he's consistently nice to. Not that you're complaining.
You shrug. "No worries."
Ashton grins, happy that you're not mad at him. "So are you gonna come to my party?"
"Yeah, it sounds fun. What time?"
"Turn up at like 8?"
---
It's nearly 8 and you're not even close to being ready yet. Because you're an idiot you forgot your house key - so you had to wait for your mum to get home from work before you could start getting ready for the party.

By the time you arrive at Ashton's, it's 9:10. There are lots of people there - and that's just outside, so you doubt that he will have noticed your absence.
Slightly awkwardly, you wander into the house and find some of your friends. Within minutes Ashton comes up to you and pulls you away from them.
"[Y/N]! I thought you weren't coming." He states. You offer him an apologetic look and explain how you got locked out. He shrugs as if he doesn't care, which hurts a little, but then pulls you into the kitchen.
"Let me get you a drink."
A girl standing nearby wolf whistles. "Ashton Irwin getting a girl a drink!" She laughs, "I never thought I'd see the day!"
Ashton scowls at her and abruptly tells her to fuck off. She just laughs and disappears into another room. He shakes his head at you and starts fixing you a cocktail.
---
Ashton disappears from your side after a while and you find yourself in the middle of a group of people you don't know. But, since you're a little drunk, you make friends quickly.
The more you have to drink the friendlier you get. You're talking to some guy who seems to really like you, but you're focusing on Ashton making out with a redhead.
You're a little surprised when the guy tries to kiss you, but in an attempt to forget about Ashton, you kiss him back. Seconds later the guy is ripped away from you and Ashton is punching him in the face. Somebody screams, but you're stunned into silence.
Eventually you realise what's going on and scream at Ashton to stop. He does instantly, staring at you until you go to help the guy you were kissing.
"Everybody out!" Ashton yells angrily. Everyone awkwardly shuffles towards the door and after a while it's just you and him left in the house.
"Why did you do that, Ash?"

Calum: Saturday comes around quicker than usual. You're dreading today.
You get into the detention room and to your surprise it's just you and Calum there. Somehow nobody else managed to get Saturday detention this week. Great.
You weren't expecting Calum to show, but there he is. Sighing, you take a seat to the left of him.
"Right, now you're both here," the supervisor begins, "the rules are simple. No talking and no leaving unless it's to go to the bathroom. You're here until 4. Enjoy these 7 hours."
With that he leaves to do work in his office. Calum chuckles, "what an idiot," and smirks at you. You scowl at him and turn your head back to the front of the room.
"Oooh, is the little good girl still pissed at me?" He chortles, and you resist the urge to slap him. Gritting your teeth, you ignore him.
"Ignoring me, huh? It's gonna be a pretty long day if we don't speak, [Y/N]."
"We're not allowed to speak," you snap back.
"They're not going to know. Loosen up a little."
You sigh. "Fine. What do you want to talk about?"
Calum grins, knowing he's won. "What music are you in to?"
You shrug. "I dunno, loads of stuff. I really like twenty one pilots at the minute."
His eyes widen. "Really?" He exclaims.
"Yeah, why?"
"I love them. Who else?"
"Uh, Fall Out Boy? Panic At The Disco? All Time Low?"
"You're kidding right? Your music taste can't be that good."
"Well, sorry to disappoint, but it is. I have great taste."
He laughs, and you feel an odd sense of pride.
"You might like my band. We're called 5 Seconds of Summer. I think we're pretty cool."
He seems a little nervous when he talks about his band. It clearly means a lot to him - it's the first time you've seen him anything other than confident. "Yeah, maybe." You say, offering him a smile.
---
After an hour or two it's clear that Calum is starting to get restless. Weirdly enough you've been getting along great.
"Lets ditch this, [Y/N]." He suggests, moving to  sit in front of you. His eyes are full of child-like playfulness, and as much as it annoys you - it's contagious. And kind of cute.
"I- we- we can't!" You stutter.
"We can! C'mon, [Y/N]."
You consider it for a minute before nodding. Calum grins and jumps up. "Lets go!" He half shouts, careful not to bring attention to the room.
You're almost at the front door when Calum pushes you behind one of the staircases. He shoves his hand over your mouth and whispers "be quiet." Your heart is hammering - being this close to Calum makes your entire body freak out. The supervisor walks past the stairs and thankfully doesn't see you.
"Lets go," Calum whispers after a minute, taking your hand and pulling you out of the front door.
You feel exhilarated. Adrenaline is surging through you and both of you are giggling hysterically. "Why does breaking the rules feel so good?" You ask, and Calum chuckles.
"Rules are there to be broken babe. So, um, I've gotta run, I've got a gig. But I was..." he seems nervous again. It's weird. "I was wondering if you'd maybe want to come to see us play tonight?"
