A/N: Mother!Reader.

It was just another day exploring a new island, so why was he getting involved in this? He couldn't help but ask himself what he was doing as the baby kept crying in his arms. A grimace made its way to his face, and he suddenly felt grateful that he had transported himself to an empty alleyway.

He was just going to get new supplies, but while walking along the street, someone had just bumped into him. It was a hooded man who held something in his arms. However, upon colliding with the pirate, whatever he was embracing fell.

As a reflex, Law quickly created a Room and it fell in his arms. The man visibly gritted his teeth, but continued running as Law looked what he had saved. He paled as he realized it was a baby.

"What-" But then he saw why the man didn't bother in getting it back. A group of marines were getting closer, and he growled, now transporting himself to somewhere safe: the alley where he found himself now.

Despite not being used to babies, he was able to think of the good side of the situation: the toddler had surely been kidnapped, so there would be a reward if he got him back.

Nodding his head, he went out of alley, the baby still in his arms, and trying to avoid weird glances in his direction. The question was: how would he find the mother?

"Next time I'll just send Shachi and Penguin." He grumbled, looking down at the baby. Luckily, he was asleep, snuggled into the comfortable sheet in which he was wrapped.

"Captain!" He turned his head to the source of the sound and noticed that his navigator was going in his direction. "What took you so long?" The polar bear asked him, but when his glossy eyes settled on the sleeping baby, his question was answered.

"Have him." Law demanded, handling Bepo the child. The bear took it carefully, and Law sighed. "Where can I find his mother?" He asked himself, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Ah!" Bepo seemed to react, gaining his captain's attention. "Coming here I found a woman who was looking around. Maybe she was searching for her baby." He said, but gasped suddenly. "I'm sorry..."

"Don't apologize, it's some useful information." Law nodded, patting the bear's shoulder. "Come on, take me to that woman."

It wasn't long until Bepo brought Law to a busy square. This frustrated the man a bit. How was he supposed to know who the mother was?

"Captain! It's her!" The bear called, pointing at a woman who was sitting on a bench, isolated from the rest of the people there. As they came closer, Law realized she had her hands tightly clasped together, her eyes closed.

"Praying won't do any good on you." Law commented smoothly, only to gain the woman's pained stare. He noticed her eyes were red, and she sniffled back snots.

"You can't know how I'm feeling." She retorted sharply, and Law lifted an eyebrow. "You don't know what losing a beloved one feels like." No. Of course he knew the feeling. He kept himself from spatting at her, and only rolled his eyes.
