"You dragged me all the way here to spy on a random girl who's 'inlove'?!" I pinched Eric by the side as I scolded him.
He twitched in pain and pouted, "Sssh," he covered my mouth which I bit and he pouted again.
"Just look please?" he begged me as he recovered from the pain.
I rolled my eyes.
We've been following a certain student from our class, if I recall her name was Jamie, for hours or probably the whole morning.
Eric told me that she was going to do something I might find interesting, which I still can't see.
My thoughts got disturbed when Eric pulled me again and followed the girl.
We followed her in the bathroom, well apparently it was only me since Eric can't come in.
In lunch time we sat in a table near her but we were in an unnoticeable state.
And when dismissal finally came Eric giggled and pulled me up to the school garden.
What is wrong with this kid? He's like a crazy fan girl of Justine Bieber or One Direction that I see in tv.
He was all giddy and stuff.
After a few minutes I started to realize what was about to happen.
We hid in some bushes waiting for the right and awaited moment to come.
In a few moments I saw Jamie come along and stood there waiting as well.
She was composed, calm and more vibrant.
She was obviously in love.
Then a tall jock came over smiling at her which made her blush.
Oh sherlock, I was right.
Its a confession.
A real life one at that.
"Isn't this a bit old fashion?" I whispered to Eric.
He blinked and gaped, "So not true!" he replied softly.
I didn't argue at all since I might end up going violent again.
When the whole confession thing was over Eric brought me to a snack bar.
I thought everything was over but as the days followed we were still stalking Jamie.
It seems she was rejected last time but I could see everyday that she's still trying to get noticed.
She was helping the guy in invisible and visible ways.
Even though she's been turned down again and again Jamie just keeps on going.
"You know, what she's doing isn't martyrdom its stupidity, why does she keep on pushing herself?" I asked rhetorically as I sipped my juice. The juice box made a slurping sound as I did so.
"That's because some people are worth melting for," Eric answered.
That doesn't even make sense... And wait, "Hey! That's Olaf's line!"
Eric looked at me and smiled, "Well yeah, and yes I watch cartoons."
I raised an eyebrow, "You're answer doesn't even make sense."
He giggled, "That means some people are worth the risk, worth the pain, worth the trials .. Everything is worth it when its love."
"But you don't even know if its it. Why don't you just give up? Especially when the situation seems very impossible," I replied mindlessly.
"That's the nature of love. Its always a choice Katie. It only matters on how you plan to achieve your happy love story with no endings." he smiled warmly at me.
I sighed, "So that's why you're so persistent with me?"
Eric nodded, "Yup, but I'm way more lucky than the others."
"And why is that?" I inquired.
"That's because we're stringed!" he said in glee.
I smirked, "Love is a choice."
Eric smirked back, "And you chose me."
When he said that something warm and familiar touched my heart.
"Who said so?" I challenged him, not minding the sensation I just felt.
"Uhm, well you showed me and I said so," he tried to sound cute, well he tried.
And wait, I did what?
"Showed you?"
He smiled like a dog, "When you left Nathan and came over to my house."
I rolled my eyes, "That was because you were injured and Nathan had his girl."
He giggled, "Oh shucks, you're really adorable when you deny the obvious." He started to squeal in delight.
My eye twitched in disgust. Oh gods, this boy is so full of himself!
Eric turned to me, "But Katie, do you understand?"
I raised an eyebrow.
"You don't know the whole story on how much effort those people did to have their dreamt love. Now, those efforts were wasted when you tried to do something," he frowned at me.
"Wasted? They always have a happy ending!" I protested.
"What if the heart never healed?" he asked.
I was taken aback by that question then I answered softly, "That's their problem."
He took my hand, "Is it? Kate don't you feel sad at all? You're breaking your own heart."
I looked at him straight in his eyes. How can this annoying boy see past through me?
How does he open up the door in my heart that I've locked up for a long time?
