I was lying down my bed, I couldn’t sleep at all.

My alarm clock read nine o’clock. I looked up at the ceiling, it was blank as what I am feeling right now.

Tomorrow would be the exhibition so I will supposedly need all my focus, but how can I even focus when I can’t even have enough sleep?

I took my phone; I haven’t touched it for days since I had a separate phone for this event. I can’t just give my real number to all those people I work with right?

“What the heck?” I muttered and sat up straight, “A hundred missed calls, five hundred unread messages?!”

I glanced at my phone and blinked. Well it’s been a week since I haven’t touched this but still, these missed calls and messages are overdoing it.

When I scanned through the calls and messages, “Eric,” I sighed.

The moment I remembered him I felt a sharp pain in my chest, like the  pain was eating me. My stomach twisted.

It was a familiar feeling of… guilt.

But why? I haven’t done anything wrong right?

Well maybe because for a while I’ve forgotten all about him and all but its because I’ve been busy.

“Great, I’m convincing myself now,” I sighed. His last call was that day I was comforted by Omi.

I had a bad feeling for a moment that Eric might be mad at me again. My brows furrowed.

I even left him without a word.

I’m such a complicated person, I thought to myself.

After a few minutes of debating with myself, I drifted off to sleep.

The day for the exhibition came and everything was set.

I was about to get dressed when someone knocked, “Ms. Sherlin, you have a package,” a maid said over.

“Wait,” I walked over the door and opened it, she was smiling at me like a sly cat and I raised my eyebrow but she just shook her head and handed me a paper bag.

“Well that was weird,” I muttered and went back in my room locking the door behind me.

I opened it and saw a note, it read, ‘I want to see you in this dress. I’m sure it will look perfect on you. See you later.’

I blinked, it was from Omi.

When I peeked inside I blinked, “Oh this dress,” I took out the smooth silky fabric.

It was the dress that I was checking out before in that boutique with the others when we were buying swim wears.

It was just as how I remembered it.

I couldn’t help but grin in delight, “He has a good memory, I’ll give him that,” I told myself and I started getting dressed. I decided to put on light make up.

After a few minutes I heard the roaring of an engine outside the estate.

“Kate let’s go,” my mother knocked.

“Yes mom, coming,” I took my purse and went out.

“My, you look dazzling,” she complimented me with a smile, “I’m saying this as your mother not as your boss,” she whispered.

I blinked in shock, “Thank you mom,” I stuttered, “You too, you’re looking rather gorgeous,” I said.

She laughed softly, “Thank you.”
