The golden rays of sunlight awoke Juliet as they peered through the window at her. It was Sunday.

Julie got up, somewhat reluctantly, and got ready to face the day. After taking a shower, getting dressed, eating breakfast, and brushing her teeth she decided to reread one of her favorite books. When she got to the book shelf however, another book stuck out. It was her eighth grade year book.

She opened it to see many words of friendship written inside.

Summer is finally here! I can't wait for all the cool stuff we're going to do together, Jules! And next year we'll rule the school! -Ivy

Her classmates also wrote some nice things inside. And some less than nice things.

Then there were the less than nice.

I'm glad I won't have to see you again anytime soon. -Sean Draper

Keep it together, braces. -Anthony Russo

Writing something in your yearbook is a waste of my time, but everyone else did so see ya, loser. -Zoey Stevens

You are annoying.

It wasn't signed with a name but Julie knew who had written that. Romeo certainly had disliked her at school. What had made him change his mind now? Was it really because she no longer had braces? Did he really judge her on looks that much? Or was it because something had changed when he moved away?

Julie noticed a slip of paper on her desk. It was a thin strip. It was the fortune with Romeo's phone number on it.

The fortune wasn't important. After all they never came true. Why would this one, the love of your life will step onto your path soon, be the exception?

It was the number on it, not the lucky numbers, but the phone number that was important. Why had he wanted to give it to her? Yes, she knew he was a flirt, but why only her? She hadn't seen him flirt with anyone else.

Boy, were guys confusing.
