Here's your update.

"When you've loved and lost someone close to you, you know what it feels like to be the loser."

...

Someone was crying.

"Humph...H...H-Ha..."

Alexander blinked past his blurred, brown eyes.

He was the second oldest of the four kidnapped and felt starved to death. They hadn't fed him since he'd arrived two nights earlier and when he moved slightly, everything ached.

Elijah was lying on the other metal table next to him breathing heavily. He was still trying to understand what was happening because he'd just arrived.

Elijah turned his head to the older brother.

"A...Al..."

The older boy made a breathy gasp but nothing came out. His throat was parched, his lips were cracked, and the sight made Elijah nearly cry out.

Is this what would happen to him in a few more hours? Is this... what happened to the other two?

His tears leaked out.

He couldn't see which other two siblings were with them. All he knew was that they were laying on Alexander's other side – and that terrified him.

Alexander clenched his teeth when he heard Elijah sob quietly into his hospital gown.

He was known out of the eight siblings to be the most inventive, always thinking of ways to do something, especially for his more emotional brother Elijah. He had to think of a way to calm down the younger boy... but how?

His right arm had been numb for hours but with an aggressive shove, Alexander managed to ease it towards the edge of the table. Elijah stopped crying for a moment when he heard the metal shift.

Looking over, he saw what Alexander was trying to do and scrunched his eyebrows.

"C-Co...Come on, Al," he whispered urgently. He looked around quickly, making sure the vile men and women walking around in white lab coats weren't looking. Elijah then moved his left arm between their tables.

He wasn't as hungry or sedated as the others and held out his hand strongly, waiting for his brother to reach it.

Alexander took a deep breath and continued to push his hand until it fell over the edge of the table. When it did, Elijah gasped desperately and stretched his fingers more.

"I'm right here," Elijah whispered and he nearly cried when his fingers touched Alexander's. The boy's small hand was cold and limp.

"And we have each other... R-Remember Neeks's eggs?"

Alexander nodded through blurred eyes but a second later his face scrunched in shame. He looked away.

The secret was out.

Now Nico knew about all them and what they'd kept from him. And Uncle Hades was dead but the others didn't know it yet.

And the worst of it was that Nico probably hated them now, and he was probably alone somewhere.

He felt her tears fell again as Elijah squeezed his hand.

"A...Are they going to take care us?" he whispered.

Suddenly–

Slap!

"Don't touch him!"
