CrookedSmile was enjoying his own aftermath of eating the muffins. Suffering a small injury, Hunter, the doctor was summoned but didn't really need to do anything and he collected his fee, mentioning he would be at the circus that evening. CrookedSmile was a high wire acrobat in stannbear's circus. Working with such acts as 3Gun the fire eater, Ruchari the lion tamer, Lean the stunt rider, Kae the magician and Raven the knife thrower.

The circus had been to town before but never with this cast nor with such hoopla as this time. The town was all agog. Rumours of a western show of some kind was also drawing interest. Billy was selling tickets and little Ronald was handing out flyers. On top of the big party planned for the saloon, Busted Gulch was becoming rampant with entertainment.

After printing the story of the possible gold strike under the Clover home site, stannbear let his new position as editor of the town paper go to his head when sales skyrocketed. He invested in the dry goods store and eventually bought it then announced he was going to run for mayor.

The town residents were so enthused by the possibility of a new gold rush, they flocked to support his bid, parades and placards abounded. He went into office unopposed and as his first act, he promised to build a huge Disneyland style mall in town. Not sure how he knew about this Disney person but seemed like it would be some kind of theme place.
