Little Ronald, who has become an interesting character in the Gulch, due to his association with the town newspaper, managed to sneak some muffins, their flavour much to his disappointment and suddenly seemed to fancy himself some kind of super hero called, News Boy. It also seems that stannbear appeared as the villain he was destined to battle.

Since becoming mayor, stannbear had also become a bully. He raised taxes to pay for his extravagant mall and he allowed no body to interfere. When CrazyGoose voiced an objection, she was knocked out and tossed on the railroad tracks in front of an oncoming train. With the help of his cute sidekick, Kae, they saved CrazyGoose.

Outraged, stannbear sent his gang of thugs after them but they were no match for News Boy and Kae.
