The Internet has claimed at one time or the other that every celebrity belongs to the Illuminati, including Beyoncé, Jay Z, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, and many others, mostly pop stars. Some of these theories are based on the use of the Jay Z's diamond gesture that resembles the Illuminati's 'All Seeing Eye'. Some of the musicians incorporate Illuminati references and symbolism in their music. The most common references to this are in 'Run This Town' by Jay Z, Rihanna, and Kanye. This is based on the fact they wore all black, a reference to post apocalyptic society. Even Katy Perry snuck Illuminati symbolism into her 'Dark Horse' video. I found this stuff on Mashable.

As you probably know, the Illuminati is thought to be up and running and trying to bring about a 'New World Order'. This would involve establishing an authoritarian world government that would replace the present national governments.

The Order of the Illuminati was founded in 1776 by a university professor by the name of Adam Weishaupt. Basically, he was in favor of free thought, secularism, liberalism, republicanism and gender equality. Illuminati means illuminated ones. For some reason knowledge is one of the main elements of secret societies. Weishaupt wanted to break away from Free Masonry, which was a much older secret society, and form his own society. Supposedly, The Illuminati was broken up in 1785 because it threatened the Bavarian monarchy and its state religion, Roman Catholicism.

Obviously, it didn't break up entirely and has terrorized Europe and the entire world since then. All sorts of conspiracy theories swarm around this super secret society. It has been associated with several fraternities like Skull and Bones and the Bohemian Club. I've talked about these in previous essays.

The main Illuminati theories claim that powerful people in high places belong to it and are planning to take over the world. These include International bankers, Jesuits, Rothschild and Rockerfeller family members, The World Trade Organization, and the Council of Foreign relations to name a few. The theories propose that these people and organizations are plotting to take control of the money, resources, and land of every country. This is a common conspiracy theory for many secrete societies like the Free Masons.

The original Bavarian Illuminati is gone, but the Illuminati still exists. It has spread all over the globe. The Ordo Templi Orientis is a modern version of the Illuminati, but there are others that practice Illuminati rituals and agendas, or at least pretend to. This does not surprise me. I suppose that it's the thing to do if you want to be sophisticated and secret at the same time.

I don't think that the celebrities are members of these vestigial Illuminati societies, but you never know. I think that the celebrities are taking advantage of the popularity of the Illuminati made famous in Dan Brown's novels. Anything to make a buck!
