: Prologue

I coughed roughly and held onto the side of my stomach as I felt blood start to bleed out onto my hand and through my shirt.

I blinked a couple of times, readjusting my eyes to the two bright lights coming from the running car that was parked a little ways away from me.

As I laid on the hard gravel, practically bleeding out, I couldn't help but wonder where Cole was. I didn't know why that was my first thought, but it kept nagging me.

"Hello? Who's there?" I said weakly.

The car door from the car parked near me opened abruptly and a figure began running towards me. My sight began to get fuzzy and I leaned my head back slowly, resting it on the cement.

"Eleanor?" Someone said next to me, lifting my head up.

"Jackson... what are you doing here?" I weakly asked as I began to black out.

He ignored me and picked me up bridal style as I tried to protest.

"Don't touch me! Let me down," I protested lamely, wanting to walk on my own.

"Hush, I'm saving you here. And someone might hear," he shushed me harshly.

"Where's Cole?" I quizzed in concern, beginning to see black spots.

"He's..." Jackson's voice droned out as my head dropped onto his chest and I passed out.

Let me pause for a second. How I ended up in this state?

Relax for a bit, and let me tell you from the very beginning.
