"Nice to finally see you again Jules." Amber's irritating voice was not something I needed after speaking to the principal.

Hearing news that I had reached a point in most of my classes that I could return to normal curriculum should be the best news I've heard in months. Instead the news put me into an unshakable depression.

My sanctuary within the library was being taken away from me. Not only was it the only four walls I was comfortable within but that meant Sam was to return to his classes as well. We only had lunch and an hour in the library for chemistry tutoring. My free range school days were now over. Now I must obey the laws of the bells, arrive promptly and pay attention to my annoying teachers.

"Hi," I spat eagerly trying to rush this conversation to an abrupt end.

"Hi Juliette," Winnie greeted in a bright and bubbly voice as she took her seat in front of me. My single desk appeared so small and lonely.

She glanced at me with her sharp chin on her shoulder. When she saw my grumpy expression, she tilted her head; much like I'd expect a curious puppy too. Untangling strands of her dirty blonde hair from her dangling earrings she turned to face me.

"What's wrong, Dearie?" She asked appearing to be concerned about my put out composure.

If my raised eyebrow and confused expression didn't tip her off to my disorientation to her speaking to me, my gapping mouth would. I was so bewildered at her sincere caring. Guiltiness would soon eat my conscious as I thought about all the terrible things I said to Joel about her.

I was still dumbfounded that she cared, I had nothing to say.

"She's not going to talk to us." Amber's snide voice was enough to make my shoulders tense. "She's too high and mighty to be speaking to people like us."

"I'm just having a bad day," I replied to Winnie, half in spite of Amber and half with true intention of welcoming her to our little nerd herd.

Joel had only spoke highly of Winnie. Since their first date there have been many more but we've yet to be properly introduced. Sam had told me that Joel spoke to him about have reservations about the introduction. He was hopeful that Winnie would fit in as well as I had.

"Well, school is basically like prison but without all the amenities." Winnie's hand extended to my forearm and gave it a big squeeze. Although her nails looked vicious her intention and touch felt soft.

"And the conjugal visits," I smiled.

"Oh and the hot guards. Boo." Her brows furrowed as we picked out the perked of being in prison instead of school.

"And getting jacked in a yard. Free fitness classes," I added.

"Alright, I've been watching way too much Orange is the New Black." Winnie put her hands up laughing. She shrugged off Amber's attempt to pull her away from our conversation.

"That and Wentworth has me feeling pretty prepared if I ever get put in jail." The fact that this conversation was going well put a smile to my face; that and the fact that Amber was angry with us.

"You should come to lunch with us today," I offered having Joel in mind. Hopefully we can organically add Winnie into our squad without putting so much pressure on them as a future couple. I wasn't even absolutely sure if they were a couple yet.
