It isn't Spectrum if we don't mix it up a bit, am I right? As you all know, the holidays are just around the corner, so we decided to host a christmas themed game rather than another week of reviews. Writer in Action: Christmas Edition is underway.
Also, we encourage every member to enter these games because they can help a great deal with your writing. Practice makes perfect, members. This is for you.
Week 17 assignments are now due next Saturday. This gives you another week to crank out those reviews! Please, remember that every member of this book club has the right to participate, whether they're done with their weekly assignment or not.
*Check the chapter "Week 17" for your assignments.
Also, the book of the week review assignment is extended to next Saturday as well. To refresh your memories, the assignment is to leave a review on chapter three of the book hidden by myunicornreality. Strikes do apply to the botw as well.
Now on to this weeks game!
The concept of this game is pretty simple. We choose a prompt/theme and if you're inspired by it, you can use it to write a literary piece (short story, poem etc.). Of course, there will be different prizes each week so don't hesitate to join us!
You writing will be judged on:
1. The creativity and originality
2. Language and punctuation and grammar
3. How well you included the prompt
The theme for this week is: Christmas
Whether it be the perfect Christmas or Christmas gone bad, how you portray this theme is up to you. We cannot wait to see what you come up with!
And the prize is *drumroll* :
Their prize will be an exclusive review from one of our very own admins! The winner, however, can only choose one admin to read three (3) chapters of their book and leave a review.
Just in case you were wondering here's the scale:
ohheyitsyasmine (Bee)- Analytical, Detailed, and Insightful.
classicoverthinker (Rolii)- Blunt, Detailed, and Hardcore.
YourFavouriteAuthor (Matt)- Invested, Polished, and Detailed.
The chosen admin will review the winner's book along with the following week's assignment.
Choose your admin wisely!
The entries are to be posted in the comment section, and shouldn't be more than 300 words. The deadline is Thursday (December 29th) so get writing!
Good luck and. . .
