Reading isn't my strongest feature but as I read from book to book it got easier and of course I had motivation it's been a week and still nothing I haven't been able to leave her sight except for emergencies I've started getting a patchy 5 o'clock shadow and dark bags under my eyes you'd swear I was punched but no I've just been reading I've only changed clothes once so I'm quite ripe but I can't stop reading she has to wake up at some point after every book I roll closer checking her "You've gotta wake up Em baby." I rub her hand "You just gotta open your eyes and everything will be okay." I put her hand to my forehead "I need you to wake up. Please just move if you can hear me just move let me know you're there and I'll just keep reading I swear to you just please please em move just slightly." Just as I finish my sentence her index finger flicks and taps my nose and I gasp and tears begin flowing "Okay." I nod "Okay reading it is." I wipe my face and cough "Toughen up you made a promise." I laugh lightly and clear my throat and the nurse comes in with a lunch for me chicken strips and apple sauce and then changes the fluid bags on her IV "Which one you on?" She motions towards the book "Half-Blood Prince." I say cleaning my face off with a napkin from the tray scarfing the food so I can get back to the book "I'm sure she's happy that you're reading." I nod and smile to her "Yeah I think she is." I pick up the book flipping through back to my bookmark which a folded napkin from another meal and look up at her "I know I know the voices." I smile then look back at the book changing my posture to do a voice "I'm not talking about your stupid so-called prince!" I read and read looking up at her from time to time as if she'd just jump and everything be better but I know better than that
You can hope
Hoping she gets through it and hoping she just wakes up is two different things
I know but you have to be optimistic
I am being realistic
I know I know but you're killing yourself you've barely slept
I sleep when she's okay..
You can help her if you end up dying of exhaustion
I'll sleep after the chapter okay?
Good I'm sure she understands
I keep reading and doing my best groggily do the voices "Harry m'boy!" I push myself but my heads starting to spin but I keep reading until finally I fall out mid sentence I see her again she's in a bright gown and she pulls me in close her warm embrace her beating heart calming me "You're okay right?" She nods without saying a word "I miss you." She looks at me with a pained look as if upset "What what is it?" I jump up my eyes open the I'm laying on the couch covered up and the book closed next to me on my chair my heart racing from the dream and I look around right as the nurse walks in "Oh you're awake? I helped you to bed is that alright?" I nod scratching my head "How long was I out?" She smiles and looks at her "You'll both be happy to know that you got a good night sleep." She looks at me and I nod "Thank you." I sigh "I've just been working so hard lately." She nods "I understand it's okay I'm sure she gets it too you have to sleep sometimes." I look at Emily "I hope she's okay with it." I notice her finger move again and I move the book getting in my chair taking her hand "That's it baby you can do it. Come on you're almost there." Her finger begins tapping "Come on Em come on!" Her finger stops and I sigh "She'll make it in her own time you just can't lose faith." The nurse says trying to soothe me I look down still holding her hand "I can't lose faith because I can't lose her." I let go of her hand and grab the book "Now where was I? Oh yes." I clear my throat "I've got no plan to tell Ron what may or may not have happened at Keeper tryouts." I smile as I read seeing us in the story from time to time
She'll be okay
I know I'm learning patience
She's worth it
Of course.. She's THE ONE
