Love Heals All Wounds

The physical therapy was tough through most of the week but we fought hard through it. Friday's were the easy days those were here massage days where after she got out she'd be a little sore but she be able to relax and after a few weeks of that she's been able to stand but not much else but like I keep telling her "We're making progress and that's what matters." She agrees but I know she just wants this to be over. Since we've started the therapy she's gained some of her voice back and wasn't hard to keep talking from that point and we hit it off as if we never missed a day. That's one of the many things I love about her we connect so easily even in the hardest of times. The nurses still come in from time to time working her legs they'd do it right before meals and Emily's dad would bring us "real food" because we were tired of the hospital menu "How's my special girl." She groans but smiles "Fine dad." He smiles and looks at me "And you sport?" I nod "I'm alright thanks." He nods and hands us a bag with Taco Bell in it "You are a savior." She kisses his cheek and he kisses her forehead "Anything for you dear." We start chowing down and I burp loud and she laughs "8." I flip her off "That was so a 9." She shakes her head and I smile kissing her then going back to my food we finish eating then turn on deadpool "There we go. Now we're talking." She says snuggling into me and Emily's dad sits next to us "This is a good one." I laugh "It's the best one." We all nod and watch the movie enjoying the time we have together I text my parents the progress my dad to be more specific and he relays everything to my siblings when he can I don't want them to worry about things they don't need to and now that I'm calm I can finally talk about this whole situation with people I'm hoping my siblings tell my friends but that's saying whether not I can depend on them speaking of them Matt calls me on FaceTime and I answer "Hey man. I was just thinking about you." He smiles "Well we've been thinking about you a lot. We just got the news. How is she?" I point the phone to her and she waves and Matt waves David in the back waves too she smiles at first but then the smile slowly disappears I raise my eyebrow she feels her face "Baby.." I say softly "Why didn't you tell me.." I sigh "You were making so much progress.." I look at the phone Matt nods and hangs up "I'm I'm I'm.." I cut in "More beautiful than any creature I've seen in my entire life." She begins to cry "But I'm.." I cut in again "Scarred just like everyone some are more visible than others but when you're with the one you love you see past all scars all wounds.... love heals all wounds." She cries and buries her face in my neck holding me tightly and I hold her back
She'll be okay just give her time
I'll give her that and more
