Echo had sat for what seemed like days even though it had only been a few hours. He had never felt so scared in his life, not even on the battlefield or even being held a blaster point. Fives and Hardcase had been ignoring him because he had put not just Thier lives and his own in danger but his partner (y/n)'s as well.

Captain rex had told Fives and Hardcase to drop the subject and that Echo was only doing as he was told. The two clones nodded and apologized to their brother, Echo nodded and waited anxiously for the medic to come out and say that (y/n) was ok. The medic soon appeared with a grim look on his face. The four clones jumped to their feet and waited for the result, Echo felt his heart race and his mouth turn dry.

Those words cut Echo like a knife "NO!!! THEY CAN'T BE GONE, THIS HAS TO BE SOME KIND OF SICK JOKE, PLEASE TELL ME YOUR JOKING" Echo screamed as tears ran down his face "please tell me it's a joke"
The medic shook his head and led the four to where (y/n) was lying on the operating table, completely deprived of life, and Echo broke free from Fives and Hardcase. Running over to (y/n). He lightly tapped their cheek, gently shook their shoulders but nothing. He took their hand in his and held the back of it to his cheek, it was cold. He fell to his knees, his tears running like a river down his face.

"Come on, soldier we have to go now" rex said as he put his hand on Echo's shoulder
Echo didn't want to leave but he knew that he would be dragged away if he did get up but he couldn't find the strength, so Fives pulled him up. He kissed (y/n)'s forehead and pulled the white sheet over them.
"You get cold, stay warm" Echo said as he turned to leave, not before stealing one last glance
Now wall he had left of (y/n) was his memories and the red heart they painted on his chest piece.
Not long after the death of (y/n), Echo sacrificed himself to everyone else could escape. When he opened his eyes, he smiled. There was (y/n) he ran up to them and hugged them. Fives and Hardcase knew Echo had died loyal and now he was happy with (y/n).
