HAPPY NEW YEAR
What shall we wish thee? Treasures of the earth?
Songs in the Springtime, pleasure and mirth?
Flowers in thy pathway, skies ever clear?
Would this ensure thee a Happy New Year?
What shall we wish thee? What can be found
Bringing the sunshine all the year around?
Where is the treasure, lasting and dear,
That shall insure thee a Happy New Year?
FAITH that increaseth, walking in light
HOPE that aboundeth, happy and bright,
LOVE that is perfect, casting out fear,
These shall insure thee a Happy New Year
PEACE in he Saviour, rest at His feet,
SMILE on His countenance, radiant and sweet;
JOY in His presence, Christ ever near,
This will insure thee a Happy New Year!

The Bible tells us how we can be sure of a year filled with 365 days of gladness and blessing. Psalm 146:5 declares, “Happy is he that hath…God…for his help, whose hope is in the Lord” This is the formula for true lasting joy. An awareness of God as our Heavenly Father, Sustainer, and Protector, combined with a wholehearted and deep-seated trust and confidence in His Word, produces a tranquility and brightness of spirit which even the most severe testings of life cannot destroy. -Anonymous
