Simple, Birdlike Trust

Let us be like the bird for a moment perched

        On a frail branch while he sings;

Though he feels it bend, he continues his song,

        For he knows that he has wings.

        A Happy little rhyme, isn’t it? - One filled with simple trust. Can’t you see that little bird perched on a frail little branch  swaying in the breeze? He does not fear the bending of the limb, for “he knows that he has wings.” Oh, for the trust of a little bird.

        The “branch” where you are may be swaying midst the storms of life; it may be bent with trouble , but remember that Jesus is always near you in your hour of trouble. He will not let you fall.

That  frail  little  bird  on  a  swaying  twig,

As  his  clear  voice  cleared  the  gales,

Dropped  a  message  sweet  at  my  faltering  feet,

Of  a  trust  that  never  fails.

Though  many  a  storm  has  crossed  my  life,

And  many  a  grief  and  fear;

Yet  with  heart  and  voice  did  soul  rejoice,

For  my  Lord  was  always  near.

So  when  dark  clouds  are  about  your  path,

Like  the  storm  thrush,  faith

For  from  the  topmost  height  of  a  lofty  faith

You  can  always  see  the  King!

And  with  eyes  that  gaze on  His  blessed  face,

You  never  need  fear  you’ll  fail;

The  gales  may  prove,  but  they  cannot  move,

So  to  Him  now,  leave  it  all.
