Chapter 28

"Would you stop doing that!?" Bella asked with a yelp when Mira apparated in front of her. She spilled popcorn all over Jeff with some landing on the floor in front of her. She glared at the Angel, a smile flickering on her lips. "You scare me every time!"

Mira couldn't help but smile and plop down beside her. "Sorry," she said, apologetically. She concentrated on the wind and got the popcorn off of Jeff and back into the bowl. Her powers were growing, and she was glad that they were. She knew that she was going to need them for whatever she had to do. "Where is Tony?" she asked, looking around.

"Dude, that was cool," Jeff said. "Could you get a drink from the fridge?" He shrugged when Mira questioned about Tony, not knowing where the young Alpha was.

"Get it yourself," a male voice grumbled. Sparks appeared on her skin when the person touched her, and Mira knew that it was Tony. "We are going on a date."

"We are?" Bella and Mira parroted.

"Yes," Tony said. "Mira and I are."

"Ooooo that means I can get her ready," Bella said, clapping her hands together. She threw a pillow at Mira when she groaned. "Oh shut your trap," she said, scowling. "You will be glad that did it." She wiggled her eyebrows, causing Mira to blush.

"She is just going like that," Tony stated. "You do not need to do anything, Bella." He grabbed Mira's hand before nodding bye to the other two. He didn't say a word as to where they were going, and Mira hoped that he wasn't planning on doing something stupid.

"Wow," Mira said, looking around. Tony had taken Mira to the fair, and she couldn't help but feel at awe with everything.

Kids ran around, laughing while parents ran after them, trying to keep up with their sugar-filled children. Cheerful screams came from people riding the rides, and everyone was having a good time. No one could see the darkness around them, and she was glad that there were people here making sure that nothing happened to the parents and hyper children.

Mira looked up at Tony and saw that he was staring at her with a love-struck face. "What?" she asked, scrunching up her face. She cocked her head and stared up at him, again hating the height difference. "I don't have anything on my face, right?"

Tony shook his head, a smile curving on his lips. "You just look like a kid," he said.

Mira frowned, thinking back on her life. She was grateful that Nikolai was all right with her going out, but she hadn't told Tony that she might not be able to have kids. However, she did not want to ruin the mood and just decided to tell him another time. "This is my first time at a fair," she replied, honestly.

"But, I thought..."

"They do," Mira said, nodding to an Angel that was looking at them. "They are around. I just haven't had the experience to go to one before. My field of work is... more dangerous than a couple of Demons roaming around."

"Oh." He paused and looked around. Tony was curious as to where any Demons are, because he wasn't able to sense them, nor was he able to sense Angels either. "Are there any around?"

Mira glanced around, and her whole body tense. A frown appeared on her lips when she saw a Demon staring at her and Tony. A look of disgust took hold of her face because she didn't want to have her date ruined. "Yes," she said. She grabbed hold of Tony's hand and lead him over to the Demon.

The Demon watched as they went over and sneered. He looked her up and down, causing Tony to growl softly. "So, the lovely Angel does have a mate," the Demon, Joan, said, smirking. "How your father will be pleased, Mi-"

"If you call me by that name one more time, I will kill you," Mira interrupted him. "What are you doing here?"

"I want to live," Joan replied. He sighed and frowned, moving a hand through his black hair. Seriousness filled his eyes, and Mira was amazed that this Demon could be serious. "Razal is trying to get more Demons out of the Underworld and have them attack up here. We know that the Angels will probably defeat us because of..." He gestured towards her, causing Tony to growl and Mira rolling her eyes.

"Why ask me?"

"Because, you have connections," Joan replied in a duh tone. "You have been here longer than most of the Angels that try to deal with us." He rolled his eyes in disgust at the other Angels.

Mira gritted her teeth together, feeling annoyed with Joan. She wanted a peaceful night, but she knew that that would not happen with him here. "And my connections are annoyed that I do have a connection with the Demons," she replied. She looked around, pursing her lips. "Come on, let's not talk here. If you want the business to get done, then we will have to do it without any... Humans around."

"What think I can't control myself around them, My Dear?" Joan asked, teasingly, causing Tony to growl. "What is the big Alpha getting a lit-"

"Remember what happened last time, during World War 2?" Mira asked, interrupting Joan. "Ya, I don't want that to happen again." She looked at Tony, a frown on her face. "Do you think we could..."

"We can do it tomorrow," Tony said, kissing her forehead. "Shortie."

Mira scrunched up her nose, hating the fact that she was shorter than the two taller men. "The only place I know that is safe is where Gabriel and Nikolai are." She scowled when the Demon groaned. "It's that or we can go to one of the safe houses that reek of death and have you lose control." She smirked. "You choose."

Joan groaned and moved a hand through his hair. "Fine, we can go to that place. If they try to..."

"They won't," Mira interrupted. "Do you want a ride, or did you bring yours?"

"Brought mine," he replied. He wiggled his eyebrows, causing Tony to growl possessively and pull her closer to him. "Do you want a ride, Sweetheart?"

Mira blinked, not showing any emotion on her face. "Sorry," she said, finally. "I don't do cars, I do trucks." With that, she grabbed Tony's hand and walked towards the truck that he had brought them in. They were going to have a date later, and when the time was right, she was going to tell him that she might not be able to have pups.
