Sitting in my bed, unclenching and clenching my fist. The tension ebbing, and rolling back like a tidal wave, knocking me down once again.
Shallow gasps of air and nausea rocking back and forth. An odd buzzing in my teeth and chin, numbness spreading through my fingers and up my arms. On days like this, I hide.
There hasn't been one of these episodes in five months. I highly doubt anybody knows I can be like this. It's hidden.
A soft breeze blows through the windows. I'm fainting. I'm not. I'm fainting. No, breathe.
Breathe breathe breathe help.
I need a distraction. Anything. Spell words backwards, look at the wall, what does the wall look like?
Heart pounding, it's so much worse than you think.
I forgot what this was like.
The world comes crashing down,
There's nothing there.
Panic attacks are the worst. I'd rather fight Percy to the death, I'd rather fight a drakon, I'd rather roam the underworld alone.
No words
Can describe
The hopelessness
You feel.
Until a light appears through the tears
The warm embrace of one you trust. Soft arms wrap around, the world stabilises. Before it lurches once more. At this time, being alone can be the only cure.
Not with him.
The blurring world clears, the lurching feeling subsides.
It's only on days like this do I really realise how lucky I am.
And how great it is to feel normal, alive.
Without pain.
Think now to yourself, how comfortable do you feel?
Maybe something's bringing you down emotionally.
But normally, you'd find yourself comfortable.
No lurching feelings.
No shortness of breath.
No clammy hands or racing heart.
Appreciate it now, quick. Grab it.
