              *Alex's P.O.V.*

It's an hour before Jonny gets here, and I'm meeting him in the public rink. I have it booked for the hour. Someone else apparently has to use it after that.

For the past year, I've been skating here. Nothing much, I'm actually shooting pucks more than I'm figure skating. Vivian says I come to the rink ready to skate, then only end up shooting pucks because I'm avoiding my jumps.

I know she's right. I'm just so scared something's going to happen to my ankle, and i won't ever be able to walk again. And what would Jonny think of me? I shake scary thoughts out of my head. No. It's not going to happen.

I skate around the rink again, shooting pucks.

The doors open with a creak, and i turn around.

"Alex!" I hear Jonathan call my name.

He runs out on the ice, without skates. I laugh, because he almost falls.

"Jonny," He embraces me with open arms.

I breathe in his sweater, smelling just like i remembered.

I pull away, remembering we weren't supposed to be doing this.

"Ahem." I cleared my throat.

"Right." He winks.

I roll my eyes, and he leaves to put on his skates.

I don't practice my spins and jumps, instead i continue to shoot pucks, never missing one.

"You're really good at that, you know?" He says, skating on.

I shrug, and loose strands of hair fall into my face.

I pull them behind my ears, and shoot them again.

"Aren't you supposed to be practicing your fancy spins?" He asks, slowly, and carefully.

I shrug again, the hair falling again.

This time, he pushes my hair back.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"I'm scared." I say. "I can't do this with fear, because I'm holding back, I'm not giving it 100%."

"No fear, Alex." Jonathan tells me. "Give it your all. You can do it."

"I don't want to get hurt again," i whisper into his ear.

He looks into my eyes. "Try. If you fall, I'll be right here to catch you."

Somehow i know, that he will catch me.

I nod, swallow hard, then skate. I take off. I'm scared, and i hold back. I cannot get enough height, and I'm falling. I let out a yelp, but a second later, i feel myself in safe, strong arms.

"Relax, I've got you." Jonathan says.

I sigh in relief. "Thank you," i say.

"No fear." He reminds me.

"Right."

This time, i push everything out of my mind. If i fall, Jonathan will catch me. No fear. I take off, and set myself up perfectly. I get good height, and spin thrice. I feel myself coming back down, but i do not hold back. I land a little off balance, but use my hand to steady myself. This is it. I did it! I finally landed my triple axle.

"I did it!" I exclaim, laughing. "Jonathan, I did it!"

Jonathan starts laughing too. "You did." He says and skates towards me with his arms out stretched. I skate into his arms, hugging him tightly. I'm grinning uncontrollably, and he is too. We stand there just hugging, for a while. Then someone opens the rink doors.

"Alex?" A familiar voice asks.

I turn around and my smile fades. My knees go weak, and the only thing keeping my knees from buckling is Jonathan's arms, still around my shoulders.

"Matt?" I whisper.
