Chapter 19

Ella's P.O.V:

He didn't waste any time, although we had plenty. He grabbed my hand and started pulling me along as he walked with his long, tree legs to wherever he planned on taking me. Me, of course, struggling and falling over my own feet while trying to keep up with him.

"I hope you're not planning on killing me," I teased him as I stumbled again. I couldn't see his face but I knew the idiot had smirked.

"Why would Prince Charming kill his princess?" he asked. I couldn't help but chuckle at his words. I focused and tried to remember the story of poor Cinderella.

"I have to be home by midnight, Prince Charming," I said deciding to play along.

"Don't worry, princess. I'll get you home on time," he promised and I couldn't help but chuckle.

"What?" he asked, confused.

"You called me Princess," I giggled in amusement.

"It's a nick name. It's normal," he defended his manliness like the stubborn person he is.

"Sure it is," I mocked still laughing. I couldn't deny how it made my heart flutter, though. He didn't need to know that however. "Where are we going?"

"You'll find out," he said and I furrowed my eyebrows in annoyance. I had no idea where we are going and I skipped school for this idiot.

"Fine," I huffed and ordered my legs to speed up. "Will you at least slow the hell down!" My shout made him burst into a fit of laughter.

"It's not my fault you have tree legs!" I shouted in defense. He only glanced at me with a twinkle in his eyes and slowed his pace.

After a while he suddenly stopped walking all together which caused me to walk into him with a 'thud'. He glanced at me with a grin and placed his hands over my eyes, blocking my view of wherever he brought me.

"Kenneth Moalch, I swear to whatever God you believe in if this is some sappy picnic with candles and sandwiches I am going to murder you," I threaten while shooting a death glare in his general direction.

"I promise it's not," he said in between his laughter at my very serious threat.

"By the way what do you believe in?" I asked him with sudden interest.

"That was sudden," he said as he dropped his hands, allowing me to see where we are.

"A park?" I questioned at the view. It was a children's park with a swing set, a slide and monkey bars. I turned to Kane and saw him noding with a grin. I shrugged and walked to the swings. I haven't played in a park in years so I sat down in the swing. I pushed myself with my legs. The swing moved forward and I smiled.

"I just realized I don't know. It's pretty basic knowledge for a girlfriend to know," I told him, bringing us back to the previous conversation.

"Girlfriend?" he questioned and my eyes widened. I felt myself flush red when I realized he had never actually officiously asked me. I swallowed my embarrassment and shot him a firm look.

"Yes, your girlfriend. Now, answer the question," I insisted and saw him smirking at my confidence.

"Alright then, girlfriend. I was raised Roman Catholic and never really gave it any thought. Since I was raised going to Mass I just kind of went with it," he responded. Suddenly the swing lifted off the ground and sped forward. I let out an embarrassing squeal in delight as Kane pushed the swing higher and higher.
