Alonzo gave us the name of the gunman. It was Jacinto Quiñonez. He's actually an ex-mercenary. No wonder I had a hard time dealing with him.

When I dismissed the meeting, isa-isa namang nagsi-uwian ang iba, except for me.

I went inside the kitchen to get myself a glass of water and jugged the two tablets down in one go. I've always hated drinking medicines since I sometimes have a hard time swallowing them.

"Schwyler, can I talk to you for a second?"

Why? Is there something wrong?"

He strode towards me and let out a long and heavy sigh.

"I heard about what happened. When you fought against a gunman. Kamusta ang.. ang pakiramdam mo?" Nag-aalala niyang tanong but he also sounded restrained.

"I'm fine, Carver. Our family doctor has already checked my injuries earlier and she just gave me a prescription. But other than that, I'm all good. Don't worry." Sagot ko sa kaniya. I placed my arm on his back and gave him a gentle tap to assure him that he has nothing to worry about.

He shook his downcasted head and rested his arms on the sink.

"Bakit, Carver? May bumabagabag ba sa 'yo?" This is the first time I've seen him so bothered by something. Did something happen at his company?

"Schwyler, I'm just worried. You're putting your life on the line just for this. It's too much." He confessed. My brows furrowed at what he said.

"What do you mean by that, Carver?" What's too much? And what is he worried about?

"Don't get me wrong. You're doing a very great job and no one could ever rival your efforts. Ang sa 'kin lang, the way you're risking your life for this.

He turned silent after saying it and I did too.

"I-I don't understand what you're trying to say, Carver. What do you mean it's not just about work?" Naguguluhan kong sagot sa kaniya. Of course it's about work, why else would I do it kung hindi ito para sa trabaho ko?

"Schwyler, do you like Leander?" Diretsahan niyang tanong sa akin. I choked at his sudden question.

"What?" Carver's question caught me off guard.

"It's a yes or no question Schwyler." Pagtutuloy pa niya. But I refuse to entertain that kind of subject.

"I don't know why you're asking me that and I don't understand its relevance to your concern." I defended. At bakit niya ba ito pinipilit?

"That's exactly my concern here, Schwyler. Alam mo, it's not that hard of a question. If you like him, just simply say yes. If you don't, e 'di it's a no." He explained. Like I don't know how it works?

"I-I don't. Why are you asking such stupid questions? And how does it become your primary concern?"

He's really acting strange.
