The sound of the door loudly shutting shook the lazy cat awake. He raised his head and waited for his vision to focus before realizing that he and the girl had arrived at home. He yawned and left the girl's shoulder, taking his human form and giving himself a moment to stretch.
"Have a good nap? I hope me having to carry everything into the house didn't disturb you" the girl said in a slightly annoyed tone although she didn't really care that much.
"It was your idea to go and buy stuff" the vampire said as he tiredly rubbed his eyes.
The girl set the bags on the counter and looked through a couple. "Whatever." She found what she was looking for and tossed the bag to Kuro.
He barely caught it and looked down to it with a confused expression. He opened the bag finding something he didn't expect to see. "You bought me clothes..?"
"I was shopping and I thought It'd be good for you to have extra.. So yeah." The girl replied as she began to put away some of the things she bought. "I didn't want to wake you up to measure so I hope I got the right size."
He set the bag down and pulled out a shirt to check the sizing, "these are fine." He replied monotonously. He yawned and put the shirt back before deciding to go and lay on the couch.
The girl finished cleaning up and turned to see that the vampire had left to lay on the couch. Her arms were aching slightly from having to walk home with everything so she decided it would be good to rest too. She walked past the living room giving a 'you're welcome by the way' to the vampire before heading into her room to grab her blanket. She wanted to relax but television sounded like a good idea too. She wrapped herself in the blanket before heading back out to the dimly lit living room.

The vampire didn't bother to glance at the girl as she walked up to the couch seeing that he took up the majority of it. She sighed, she didn't feel like fighting with him for the couch at the moment but she knew the vampire wouldn't move on his own.
"Kuro, move" she decided to try and ask even though she knew it was hopeless.
The vampire whined in a low tone mumbling, "ah, I'm so tired though.."
"You spent the last three hours sleeping. Move or get squished" she demanded.
The vampire lazily looked the girl up and down, "I don't think you're fit to make that threat..."
It was true that he dwarfed her in comparison to size, but she didn't care. "Ok I warned you." She huffed before proceeding to lay on top of the vampire.
He let out a low whine as he tried to lazily get her off of him but ended up shifting to where both were laying on the couch next to each other. He sighed and gave up after finding his current position more comfortable than any of the other options he could come up with in his head.
The girl heard him sigh and glanced up to him, "I don't see why this is a problem to you. You always do it to me" she shrugged before turning to watch the tv.
Kuro rolled his eyes and decided not to comment. He sighed and joined her in watching television until he was interrupted by the girl fidgeting. His gaze directed towards her shifting and trying to fix her tangled blanket.
"I hate this thing sometimes.." she said under her breath as she pulled the blanket over herself once more.
"You're always wrapped up in it though" the vampire said in a bored tone.
"Yep" she said dismissively as she settled back down to a comfortable spot, "how's it feel to have a burrito for an eve?"
He paused for a moment thinking of an answer, "it could be worse." He yawned.
"Dang it I was hoping you hated me more" she laughed sarcastically.
The vampire sighed tiredly as he went along with what the girl said, "I would but you do things for me so I guess you're okay..."
"I think that was almost a complement" she gasped.
"Quit being bothersome and watch the tv..." he replied bluntly.
The girl grinned and turned back to watch the television.

She couldn't help but enjoy the small moments where the vampire would open up slightly. Even if it were something as small as a side comment, it meant progress. There were times where she felt awful for having to form a contract, having to bother him with her existence. But whenever he was protective or kind she was reminded that it was his decision too, and for whatever reason he had picked her.

The two stayed on the couch for hours until night had fallen. Kuro yawned and rubbed his eyes, watching the tv for so long had caused his red hues to sting slightly. It was about time to call it a night, yet he didn't feel like leaving to the bed for some reason. It was odd for him to be the one that couldn't find the motivation to sleep. He decided to at least turn the tv down a bit to try and relax.
"(Y/n)... turn down the volume..." the vampire mumbled, not wanting to do it himself.
He was met with no response.
Confused, and slightly concerned, he leaned forward slightly and looked down to the girl. He was surprised to see her in a peaceful slumber, her blanket pulled up to her shoulders.
He tilted his head slightly, his mind halted as he couldn't help but watch her for a moment. It was one of the few times she had fallen asleep just out of the feeling of tiredness, and one of the even fewer times he had witnessed it. He caught himself taking in the features of her face and sighed closing his eyes for a second. He took a breath and opened them once more before leaning over to grab the remote and turning the volume on the tv down.

He laid back with a sigh, now trying to distract himself with the tv he was trying to ignore a few moments ago. He stared at it trying to ignore the emotions he was feeling at the moment, most of which he couldn't really comprehend.
As if to amplify the effect the sleeping girl yawned quietly and shifted to where she was leaning more against the vampire instead of laying on her side. Her back against his chest. There was no way for him to ignore her now. His gaze was drawn towards her.
The vampire's emotions filled his mind. It wasn't anything he had known before. It wasn't nervous, or anxious or happy or sad. He couldn't grasp what it was. Something about their relationship made him feel like he needed to be by her side. He was drawn towards her. Perhaps it's just the sense that comes with having an eve. The feeling to protect. He was new to the experience so he considered it a possibility, although he wasn't sure if his assumption was correct.
