12.

It felt like forever as I sat there on my bed with my hand rested on my chin and my eyes fixed on that thin ray of sunlight pushing through my window.

These past couple of days, ever since I made that deal with Aiden, has been a total hurricane and now it seems like my mind has had trouble perceiving that today is Friday, but today isn't just any Friday. Today is the Friday where it all ends, all the crazy twist and turns and emotional catastrophes. Yes, definitely after the deal is off, I can get back my normal life and probably reconcile with my friend Emerald.

My ears tingled as a sound of a blow horn erupted from my new ship inspired alarm clock. God, if I knew my Dad would get me this alarm clock, I shouldn't have thrown my old one on his head.

I sighed, 'why do I even give a damn about his decisions?'

"It's because he's starting to get under your skin," I heard a voice spoke. Probably a sick kind of alternate conscience I had in my mind.

"No, that can't be true," I answered the voice. Sure, Aiden might have changed and sure I might have liked him better now, but my degree of attraction for him hasn't reach that level yet where he 'started to get under my skin'.

"Well, I believe it isn't my business anymore sis," I felt a jolt awaken me as I heard an unexpected reply ,"but you should probably get out of there if you wouldn't want to be late for the last day of Spirit Week," the voice added, followed by two loud knocks against my door.

I could feel my cheeks burn up at the realization that I've been speaking my thoughts out loud, and God how pathetic could I actually get?

Gosh, it is so embarrassing for my brother to hear my thoughts about Aiden. I can't even remember how to breathe, so I did what I had to do, I grabbed a pillow and smashed my face against it, allowing myself a silent scream.

"Asia?" My brother called out one more time, his voice thicker with concern, his knocks starting to get overly frantic.

'Okay Asia, you can get over this,' I thought to myself.

'At the count of three, I would come out as a freshly awaken butterfly,' I thought the silent mantra, I've learned a few days ago.

'One,'

"Asia, sis!"

'Two,'

"Asia Gertrude if you do not answer me, I swear to God I'll knock this door down!"

'Three.'

After finally composing myself, I got myself to answer him, "yeah Claude, I'm coming," I said, I didn't want any doors to get hurt because of my brother's dramatics.

I got out of my bed and inhaled as deeply as I could. Oh Lord, please don't allow this day to go haywire because I think I'll be finally admitting myself into a mental institute if anything and I mean anything goes wrong today.

"Asia Cassidy!"

Her jet black hair flowed behind her back like a shampoo commercial model as she made her way towards me. Hayley, all dressed in her signature black attire called out my name, I turned my head sideways just to make sure that I heard her right. I almost forgot that we're now on close friend terms with each other, since yesterday.

Man, did I mention that Hayley Young owned a Corvette?

"Sup," I greeted her as coolly as I could pull off, with my right hand tucked in my pocket and my left hand raised a bit to the side in preparation for a high-five. Having Hayley Young in your presence can really raise your coolness bar in a bad-girl-smart-chic kind of way.
