19.

Days fly by and seasons do too. I remembered the orange and brown leaves that fell from the trees a few weeks ago when I decided to leave my parents and live with my sister and her boyfriend. The chilly autumn days made me home sick but I got to spend some time with fun people around me like Cade, and then occasionally I would go out with Claude and his friends and also with Emerald.

I was pretty busy then too, preparing for College. I wanted to get into Brown University because good ol' Cade was kind enough to bring me in for a tour around the campus and I just fell in love with scenery and the people looked nice and basically everything was just awesome.

I was thinking about getting a degree in International Relations because hey I could be a journalist or a diplomat and what not? At least my decision to take AP Comparative Politics would not be in vain.

My twin said he sorely missed me and well, I do too. We talked about his plan for College and he planned on getting into a good Architecture program, I bet he could get into Harvard. Ms. Darcy our Guidance Counselor said so herself.

Then the last autumn leaf fell and the cool winter days soon followed and yet my search still haven't gotten anywhere. I got to spend my Holidays with my parents though, since Sam insisted they be invited for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

They still wanted me to return home but I don't want to. I will never return back to my parents until I've settled this, unfortunately it's been a more than a month already and I still haven't figured out anything about Aiden and me yet.

That was 'til we went back to school after Winter break that Emerald Delaney approached me after school with a medium sized rectangular box in her arms. The box didn't look heavy as Emerald's posture remained poised but from the look on her face, I could tell that she didn't like whatever was inside it.

"Wat'cha got there?" I asked as I walked up to her, slinging my bag on my shoulder as I stood up from the bench I was sitting on.

"Something that might be helpful, I hope," she replied as she pushed the box towards me, scoffing.

"What is this?" I asked as I ran my fingers on the box's cover which was decorated with floral patterns and huge buttons, hearts adorned the body of the box in assorted colors and different sizes.

Emerald and sighed and crossed her arms in front of her, "I didn't open it but Claude said he dug it out from you yard-"

"So I kept a memory box of me and my forgotten boyfriend and buried it somewhere in my yard?" I interrupted.

Emerald nodded her head, "yeah as I was saying, Claude dug it out and he said that-"

"I find it hard for me to imagine myself burying a memory box," I attempted to shake the box and I heard something rattle from inside.

Emerald rolled her eyes, "yeah A, apparently you did that, now would you please let me finish?" my best friend said in exasperation as she smoothed a stray hair over her head. "Claude was pretty sure that belonged to you so maybe there's something in there that could help you with remembering or finding out or whatever you were hoping to do."

I could feel the muscles around my cheek contract as I fought the urge to smile. Here in my arms are actual proof that I used to date Aiden Theodore Walker.

"Why are you smiling like that?" Emerald asked and there was this teasing look on her face.

"Smiling like what? I wasn't smiling," I said trying to deny the burning sensation on my face, or the flight of little butterfly wings in my stomach.
