The second bus came and I quickly got up and passed my card on the scanner. Xavier followed me then and we both sat in silence as many people were muttering comments to each other about fashion, politics, or just stuff about their husbands, wives, things like that.

I don't know if he wanted to go eat but I made plans to go home. There was no homework but for most of my classes, they gave us a homework sheet for the rest of the year and I decided to get started on it. It's for the best.

Throughout the bus ride, just to push me off my imaginary cliff, Xavier made sure he was really close me. His thigh next to mine, our elbows hitting against each other at each bump and every time we would make a small comment, he would put his face close to mine just for the hell of it. He better not be mocking me. I told him I'm not letting him kiss me, it's that simple by hard to resist. Which girl wouldn't want to kiss that model? Before I would of screamed and ran all the way to Texas if possible, but now...it was different and there's no explanation of what I felt towards him. It's just incredible how two distinct people can come to be so close to each other that boiling water wouldn't match up the heat of the tension between us.

"That man needs to shower." I told Xavier. Once again, Xavier put his face almost too close beyond my personal space and I swear I must have turned scarlet.

"Eh what can you do then?" He whispered.

"Can you not?" I pushed him away from me. Good thing there was enough space.

"Not what?" He said smirking. I sighed. I almost forgot that he's cocky, loves getting his way through things, and he's a jock.

"Your hideous looks are not doing any good." I crossed my arms.

"Aw, yet I thought you were checking me out in the morning." He saw me blush. "I suppose it was just another waste of an outfit."

"Oh shut up you James Dean. I bet you had your momma or maids pick it out for you."

"Hey, Mom does not pick my clothes. Maids aren't even allowed to touch my clothes unless I'm too busy to clean up or do laundry."

"You're such a rich boy." I muttered.

"I am. Well no, my parents are rich not me." I rolled my eyes turning my attention out the window.

"That's what spoil children say." I poked his side. He jumped a little and laughed towards my direction. I had no idea he was ticklish. Ha! I have a new weapon!

"Conch Avenue." The intercom said. We grabbed our belongings and headed out the doors as the bus made a sudden stop.

We were walking until we spotted a group of guys at the corner of the Chase bank. Xavier froze, almost automatically he pulled me to the left and went the long way home.

"Why couldn't we just gone the way we always do?"

"We never take this route."

"Because you said no and I quote 'No I'm too lazy.'" I said Xavier sighed as he tucked his hands in his pockets.

"I don't want them to meet you." He said quietly.

"What?"

"Never mind."

"No, no, no sir I heard you perfectly. What do you mean?"

"It's just...no it's complicated."

"Xavier you know you can trust me." I wanted to know why Xavier didn't want them to meet me. That group of guys. Well, they didn't look like those jerks from the other school, Republic Dome we saw some months ago at the Low Range Bowling Alley. "Unless you're caught up by drugs-"
