Part Eight: Adam

 I sat there on the small boat, my head hung in my hands as I watched the ocean go by. Just the thought of my friends being almost killed... It hurt my heart honestly. Sebastian's wife asked me to come and collect him since she was busy with their child, but I knew that he wouldn't come back since he wanted to learn more about... "The legends of the Venomous Beast." As for Christopher, I have no idea how he would take coming back early.

"Land ho!" One of the boat-hands yelled as I looked up and saw the island, that's when I saw some of the boats still... It was just the tip of the front as it was still above water. Once we got on the island, I went towards the small area where a gathering of people was.

"Hi, excuse me, do you know anyone by the name Sebastian Reeves or Christopher Phoneix? They are some of the supposed survivors of the cruise ship wreck a day or two ago..." I ask as a few people acknowledged my existence as they shook their heads no, not giving me any leads.

I sigh as I move towards an area where there stood two guys, I moved towards them and tapped one on the shoulder. That's when they both turned around and I saw- "S-Sebastian?! Chris?! Oh my god, it's you guys!" I gasped as they both laughed and hugged me, one at a time.

"Dude, Adam! It's been so long, w-what are you doing here?" Chris asks as he backed away from our embrace, I could tell they both were somewhat badly injured. Especially Chris's leg, which had a large scar and I'm pretty sure he never had that...

"Well, you see my dear old pals, Penelope sent me to come get you, Sebastian and Chris, I just assumed you would like to come home as well.." I say as I look between the two of them, they looked at each other and I could see Christopher's lips pull into a slight frown.

Both of them rubbed the back of their necks as I frowned and crossed my arms over my chest, an eyebrow arched as I sighed.

"Alright... Spill it, I thought you guys would be ecstatic to head home after what happened." I groaned as they both sighed and that's when Sebastian started to speak. I could tell he wanted to go home to his kid and wife, but... There's something holding him back.

"Well, first of all... I haven't gotten to do any research! And second, our little buddy here has..- Wait for it... A date." Sebastian laughed, as Christopher slammed his fist into his shoulder; slightly knocking him off balance as I stared at them with a slight... Confused look.

I stood there with a blank expression, I never expected Chris to go on a date with some... Random chick. Granted, yes, this is the first girl I've heard of that Christopher is actually wanting to take on a date. Or, so... Maybe she was pretty..?

"So, do you even know who she is...?" I ask I felt like Chris's mom... God, I need to learn how to hold my tongue sometimes..

Chris rolled his eyes and shook his head lightly, making me sigh loudly and rub my face with my hands as I turn back towards them. I look them over and see Chris look over the sky, now seeing the moon high in the sky as I watch him start to move away.

"Where the hell is he doing?" I ask as Sebastian and I watched Chris's figure move farther away as I looked at Sebastian and rolled my eyes, as he laughs and motions for me to follow him towards the small village area. I walked away with him, sometimes looking over my shoulder once and a while to see Chris still leaving.

- Serenity -

I sat on a rock that rested little ways away from the cove. W-What if that land-lover doesn't come..?! Or, maybe Kiki told the wrong person?! That's when all of these negative thoughts began to enter my head, I couldn't help but want to quickly... Just.. Peak..

Taking a deep breath, I quickly swam towards the surface of the cove and just as my hand went past the waters' surface... Something grabbed my wrist, making me gasp as I felt something begin to try and pull me out of the water... I started to panic, I-I couldn't help it!

Suddenly, I felt my upper-body become emerged out of the water that's when I saw.. Him. My free hand pressed against his chest as my other was trapped by his that had a grip on to my wrist. My charcoal eyes met his own light brown eyes, my lips were slightly parted as I stared at him.

"Hi..." He whispered as he started to stand, taking my body with him. I went wide eyed and started to push off of his chest, trying to use my tail but keep it out of sight. He started to panic... He must think I'm getting attacked or something, that's when I saw him start to yell.

My eyes grew wider as I jumped forward, throwing my hand over his lips as my body laid on top of his. I could feel his hand on my slim waist, as we both stared at each other. My lungs started to burn as I looked at him, that's when he slowly spoke and began to sit up.

"Um, hi... My names Christopher.. Christopher Phoneix.." He mumbled as I stared at him.. I just sat there and stared I quickly moved away when I heard some voices coming closer, that's when I looked down and saw my tail was bent underneath me.

"Hi, Serenity... Meet me here tomorrow.. Bye." I whisper, as I quickly move backward and dive into the sea. Once I submerged into the water, I saw two very. Familiar colored tails come towards me, at a very fast speed. I couldn't help but feel as if it was our neighboring enemy cities.

I quickly move away and try to hide, that's when.. "S-Serenity! Serenity, please, come out!" Rayne's voice came out of nowhere. I felt my eyes become water as I turned around and looked to see both of my best friends quickly swimming towards me at full speed.

As soon as I saw them, I started swimming quickly towards them and as we met halfway. I wrapped my arms around them both while they did the same to me, only to have Rayne and Lotus both hit me upside the head, I groaned in anger as I looked at them and rubbed it.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! Leaving the barrier, especially without US knowing?!" Rayne growled, as I stared at them and rolled my eyes looking at them with teary eyes still, I couldn't help but jump forward and wrap my arms around them once again.

"I-I'm sorry... I-I just wanted to become a-adventurous.."
