The first baby Chiron ever held was his daughter Hippe, and he was perfectly fine, so after his other 3 kids were born he accepted the fact that they were at a size and weight that was in between a regular human baby and a newborn foal, which is pretty common among centaurs. So when he held his first baby that wasn't his own, it was Perseus' baby, Alcaeus, everyone assumed Chiron was fine until...Chiron started crying. Everyone there began to panic and asked what was wrong Chiron said "I'm sorry he's so tiny compared to my children I'm not used to this!", which made everyone breathe a sigh of relief that nothing was wrong before laughing
