Name meaning: Kai is a name of various origins, but in this case it's Northern Germanic, meaning "lord", "keeper of the keys" or "earth" while her family name Soteira means "Savior". So her name can mean "Lord Savior", or "Earthly Savior".

Appearance: Kai is a young woman of Black and Asian heritage. She has curly brown hair dyed forest green, that reaches to her hips, tied into twin buns with pigtails, brown skin, and her right eye is pink-violet while her left is the Yin-Yang symbol. Kai is noted to be healthy, full figured and tall, standing 5'11", and it's revealed that her dress size is 16. She's shown dressing in a Mori girl style, while having a rule of wearing pants under her skirt, her favorite article of clothing is her black faux fur and wool cape.

Personality: Kai is described as simply charismatic and eager to try new things. She is flamboyant and really open with affection, referring to her dorm siblings with terms of endearment, while maintaining a mature aura about her, to the point where her nickname is "Forest Older Sister". She possesses a fierce determination, carrying her through several battles and inspiring her companions, such as when she was able to tame Gunther to become her familiar. Her determination is so great that she was willing to lose a limb or even her life to defeat her enemy and save her comrades. Kai is a glutton, shown by how she randomly and casually pulls out snacks in the middle of class. She's shown to be a very hard worker, which often results in her health deteriorating, and at one point she fainted. She is also very well prepared as she keeps small weapons hidden in her clothes.

Abilities: Kai is described as a B-grade mage, being able to do some elemental magic but is mostly focused on occult magic, which is how she was able to obtain Gunther. Her magic is very on high defense and average on offense, which is where Gunther comes in, she uses commands to have Gunther attack. She's also shown using a spirit camera, which shows spirits who are trying to hide, on multiple occasions. Besides her magical abilities, Kai is shown being able to cook, as shown by her making Onigiri sandwiches for her dorm siblings, knitting and doing very well at math.
