Desperate For Lies

I tell myself everyday.

Everything will fix itself.

Don't worry about it.

Your grades won't matter,

not until next year.

Just try your best.

Don't stress yourself.

You are not fat.

You are a fast runner.

You are not jealous

of everyone on the track team.

I will get into a good college.

I will not take a loan.

I'm going to be a well-known astronomer.

Ignore those stares you get.

Just because I am different,

doesn't mean I'm insane.

Forget those bullies who mock you.

I tell myself everyday.

Everything will fix itself.

Yet I know I am just desperate for lies.
