Meteorites

We all ride up into the sky.

With our rocket glimmering bright.

Until we pass the thermosphere.

The worst doesn't come yet.

No, now we face just the start.

Cause the journey to reach Neptune has just begun.

We have oxygen to breathe.

But it feels like I'm not.

When we just want to stop but can't.

Other times there is no heat.

So we sit shivering in the cold.

Wishing for the warmth that used to protect us.

And sometimes there are rays.
Blinding us and so we cry for help.

The reply we get is our echo coming back.

The final obstacle comes.

When we're unprepared and broken.

And here comes the meteorites.

Showering upon us with pain.

The rocket gets damaged with dents.

Somehow we make it through, but with scars inside and out.

We stand tall and proud.

Stuck with pain and damage.

But happy after we faced the meteorites.
