I see her smile.
Her words express her happiness.
But I know better than what she shows.
Sometimes I wonder.
How does she stay so strong?
After all that she has faced.
When anyone asks her.
Are you okay?
She always says "yes, I am okay".
Her loved ones.
Have died right in front of her.
And she still stands there with a smile.
No one can see the sadness.
The sadness she hides under the mask.
And she puts a shield around herself.
She keeps herself composed.
Never exposes what she thinks.
Though she secretly just wants to cry.
When I ask her if she's okay.
And she says she is.
All she wants is me to say "no, you're not okay".
