There was a time I walked on a frozen pond.
Everything was smooth and sturdy.
Living with barely any problems at all.
Until one tiny mistake.
And I slipped and fell.
I hurt my bottom and heard a crack.
In the beginning I didn't care.
I just got up and kept on playing.
Didn't see what was happening right in front of me.
The more I ignored the crack.
The more is started to expand.
And it slowly became a huge crack.
I tried to keep my head up and act strong.
Push through the pain and humiliation.
Yet before I knew it, the crack made a tree.
Cracks coming from the original one.
Big ones and small ones.
And I took the risk to take one more step.
Last thing I heard was a splash and I fell into the cold water.
I shivered and swam to the top.
But every time I do, I get pulled down with the sinking ice.
Now my body is on the bottom of the lake.
Drowning in sorrow and pain.
And it all started with a tiny crack.
