❝ gentle care ❞
the last period bell rang, echoing through the empty hallways. students were cheering, practically running out of their respective classrooms with their bags dangling on their shoulders, rushing home since it was friday.
jeongguk limped his way to the garden, oh how he wished he did not fall down the stairs as he was walking down the third floor.
he sat on the soft grass, alone. his friends had already gone home, that resulted it was only him. he stares at his wound which was bruised on his knee, it wasn't anything serious at least.
the wound looks like a scratch, but it was more than that. he winced as he touches the sides of the wound. he never thought he was this clumsy.
a soothing voice of something humming to a tune was heard from where he sat, his head turned to the owner of the voice.
his eyes landed on a girl, her head leaned against the tree as she was shaded from the sun. it was one in the afternoon, don't expect the weather to be chilly.
he couldn't help but stare at the girl, he couldn't lie but admit she was pretty, prettier than half of the girls in their school.
he looked away immediately as he saw her fluttered her eyes open. he turned to his open wound, sighing as he knew he needs to do something.
he felt a presence next to him, he reluctantly turns his head to the direction. it was the girl whom he thought was a goddess.
"your wound, it'll get infected," she said, pointing at his open wound. he instantly melted when he heard her voice. her voice was angelic, honey dripping out from it.
"i can't do anything about it," he managed to say out the words, surprisingly did not stutter due to his heart beating unusually right now.
she went by the bushes, taking out an aid kit as she flips the lid open. he stared at her confusingly. who the hell brings aid kits?
taking out the ointments, she first washed his wound. he winced at the pain, but he didn't budge. she applies the ointment with a cotton ball, dabbing onto the wound rather gently.
it wasn't like how others would treat wounds. they would do it rough sometimes, which hurts like hell. even how she sticks on the plaster was gently did.
he couldn't help but stare at the girl, seeing how cute she looks when she is focused on something.
her gentle care did not help with his heart rate, it made it faster. "there you go," she said, putting back the ointments into the kit and stuffing it back into the bushes.
"aren't you that heartthrob that everyone swooned over?" she said, breaking the silence and sat down next to him.
he gulped down the lump that was in his throat, "i guess?" he replied, his tone in a questioning one which made the other chuckled.
"well, no wonder everyone likes you. i'm min sarang." she said, her words were too bold which jeongguk was fascinated about.
he smiled, did not hesitate to reply back with his own introduction. "jeon jeongguk. nice to meet you." this school year is going to be a long ride.
