rainy day

sarang fell ill the next day after her little incident with the flour, she had a fever with a very high temperature. her mom texted jeongguk, to tell him about her condition.

he promised to visit her after the school's over. of course, her mom was far more happy than usual. maybe because she approves him to be her future husband.

her mom made chicken soup and a bowl of porridge at around one in the afternoon, just for jeongguk to feed her. her mom has jams.

the doorbell rang, making her mom smile and jogged towards the door. jeongguk greeted her mom with a smile, "hello mrs min," he said, showing off his signature bunny smile.

"sorry jeongguk-ah, i have somewhere to go." the woman apologized. "the food is in the kitchen along with the medicine. please take care of my daughter," mrs min said, grabbing her purse as she ran out of the house, leaving jeongguk confused.

it was pretty obvious it was mrs min's plan; well besides for the both.

jeongguk went to the kitchen, holding a tray which has the bowl of porridge and chicken soup. he places the medicine alongside the bowls with a glass of water.

he flung the door open, with his leg supporting the tray. the dark room greeted him, the only source of light was the sunlight peeking through the blinds.

he places the heavy tray on the table, crouching beside the girl as he admired her. he never thought he would fell hard for a girl, no one did.

a sudden downpour came, the rain was heavy, the strong wind's howls could be heard from the room. he didn't mind, but seeing how the girl's squirmed in her sleep, he knew she was scared of rain. it was pretty obvious.

"j— jeongguk?" she fluttered her eyes open, her voice was hoarse since she had just woken up by the howling wind outside.

"yes?" he said, gulping his saliva, he thought this time of sarang was attractive.

the sound of the thunder boomed loudly, making the sound travel into the quiet room. she yelped, holding onto his hands as she shut her eyes tight.

he unexpectedly pulled her into a hug, sitting down by the edge. sarang buried her face onto his chest, the warmth of his embrace made her stop shivering from the coldness.

another booming thunder travel into the room, she hugged onto him again, tighter.
jeongguk warped his arms around her small figure. using his left hand to stroke on her brown, soft hair. hushing her by whispering 'it's okay' repeatedly to her ears.

hearing his soothing voice, calmed her down. as much as she knew she had someone to leaned on when rainy days come.

the downpour stopped after what seems an hour. the porridge and chicken soup had cooled down, completely. he served her the food, rubbing the nape of his neck as he knew he could've given it to her earlier.

"thank you," she muttered, bring the spoon of porridge into her mouth. jeongguk watch as she finished the bowl of porridge along with the chicken soup.

he passed her the fever pill and the glass of water, she plopped the medication into her mouth, swallowing it with the water she drank.

she placed the cup on her bedside table. silence took over them again.

"thank you for being here with me," she thanks him, just to break the silence that was in between of them.

"of course," he smiled, showing off his famous bunny grin that could kill thousands of girls.
